It is up to Azaris to define themselves. It is pretty poor to call them Persian though. Just like Gilakis, Talysh, Lurs are not Persian. They have their own proud heritage. We should not be Kemalists and accept each ethnic group for what they are and not make everything Persian. 

Nicely done.. bravo.

There is no such a thing as Turkish Azari. Azaris are all persian and they speak old Ashkani language. The Turkish language is only spoken in major cities due to business relationship with Turks who migrated from central Asia and settled in the new land called Turkey. Other than historical fact the Azaris from old Soviet Union still speak persian even after 75 years of operation by communist.
