No difference here in U.S.

by Concerned Iranian (not verified) on

Try the same thing in downtown, anywhere in USA, and you will get the same response. This is not unique to Iran. Right or wrng, some men will always pull over when they see a woman on the street. Simple.

no it's not new

by IRANdokht on

But wrapping women up and throwing a piece of cloth over their head did not fix the problem either.

when these guys took control, they started pressuring all women and girls as young as 10 to cover up and shut up.

They used to give female students written warnings if they spoke during the classes! It's a lot more relaxed now, thanks to these girls resiliance but that does not change the fact that all this pressure was put on women and the men's behavior has not changed, it's even worse now.

it's just shameful and completely unfair to hold women responsible for this aggressive male behavior that has been common in our country for ever!

Anonymous123 (not verified)

Who is the guy in uniform?

by Hameed (not verified) on

Isn't he the Tehran Chief of Police who was caught with 6 prostitutes in a brothel while they were saying prayers in the nude?

Gutless guys!

by Mehdi on

There isn't even one brave soul to answer that "I saw your beautiful eyes and my feet automatically hit the brake!"

"Why did you stop?"

Answer: How could I not, baby? :)

I can come up with so many better answers!

Entrapment

I believe it tantamounts to entrapment, and I am not sure how this type of expose would eradicate a social/cultural misdemeanour of many decades!

so what?

by Miz Abdol Azim Khaneh Shahvat Panah (not verified) on

the girl sounds so sexy and great humor and possibly pretty. For centuries (LOL) Iranians have been trained to stop for any woman they see on the street, this has nothing to do with Islam, it has to do with bodily hormones and juices! Even at the time of Ghajars men used to pick up women by soliciting on the street and go straight to Tapeh Seekhee LOL.

So, don't blame Islam. You would do the very same thing and don't deny it. We are the sons and daughters of the same people whom you are criticizing.

If our women don't want to be disturbed, they must carry cardboard boxes (refrigerator size) and go inside it while waiting for a cab. That is why they do in Sweden, LOL, then men won't be able to tell who is inside the box and it will become a national pass time, like "Who Wants to be Millionaire" type of entertainment!

God bless Qua La Lampur

Doomed to fail

by Iva (not verified) on

Islamic bylaws are written by Bedouin men centuries ago and these laws are opposed to natural order of things, hence these laws fail to achieve anything but hardship today. For example, segregation of females from males ... no where in nature does this takes place, however, this absurd and illogical idea is forced by moslems. The result is what we read in history books from prophet to his cousins having 2 dozen women and women who were imprisoned in jails (Harem) and guarded by castrated men. To today when sexual deprivation causes all these issues in Iran.

after 30 years, they finally figured out this behavior is not the women's fault!!!!
