by Anonymous (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 06:14 PM PSTYou better keep digging in your pants and Q’s, other people pants is not your business to even think about it.
Hello
by Kaveh F on Wed Feb 20, 2008 05:46 PM PSTI fully agree with QAnd for the rest of the weekend freedom fighters
Lighten up for Pete sake (Notice I didn’t say God sake. Don’t want to offend anyone other than Pete).
It is extremely interesting to me that most of the opposition don’t go and fight the government. Just sitting abroad like Bokhtolnasr and try to tell everyone else what should they say, what flag should respect. They like the western freedom to shut the rest of the people up.
If you don’t like something don’t look at it. Even say you don’t like it (For people who give a hute who are not that many.
I personally don’t follow organized religion, but I respect the right of the others. It is interesting that even during the shah’s regime the simple lack of understanding of people’s belief was the reason shah was over thrown. Do I like the present regime? No I don’t but I am not telling others to go and lengesh kon.
Some one chose to express whatever she was expressing in a free country. It looks fresh. Don’t like to see it? Exercise the freedom of clicking and look at something else.
I wonder how deep people dig into their pants to write a comments like:
“She is humanizing IRI”
“تنها چیزی که این لباس کم دارد قطره های خون جوانانِ بیگناه در اطراف symbol حکوت جنایتکارٍ اسلامی میباشد.”
“to millions of women who are being oppressed every day by this sick regime. What a revolting flag. Use at as a toilet paper!”
The biggest crime of the revolution was to teach everyday people how to شعار

She is beautiful
by John Carpenter III (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 04:58 PM PSTGod bless her.
She is beautiful.
Do they make that flag in a 2 piece bikini?
preferably a thong bottom.
Only Iranian females with a Jay-Lo bottom and a Pamela Anderson chest need apply.
Allah Akbar.

Nice Dress
by Mohamad Booghee (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 03:31 PM PSTAs an Iranian and as respect to the Islam religion,
I would like to kiss the ALLAH on her dress, when she wears it again ....
Honest Hassan, it's more complicated
by Q on Wed Feb 20, 2008 03:05 PM PST1) No. There is nothing wrong with the flag. If you feel strongly about the Allah "symbol" of the Islamic Republic and you want to make a point that Iranian government is illegitimate, than you can wave a flag that doesn't have any symbols in the middle.
2) AnonAnon is wrong. The symbol of the Lion is ancient Iranian, as are many other symbols. But the Lion and Sun together with an Arabic sword in one configuration was chosen by the Ghajars as their new flag of Iran. The Pahlavis changed it just a little bit. Therefore, it does represent the monarchy. Even if the symbols, individually are ancient, the configuration, and the decision to put them on the flag is a political choice.
3) Wave whatever flag you like. Don't let fascists dictate to you one way or the other. For me, it depends on what you want to say. If you are talking about an Iranian sports team, it's stupid to use anything other than the official country flag which flies at the UN. If you are making a point that the Iranian government is illegitimate, and there should be some other government, than don't use this flag for that occasion.

by ksparast (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 02:59 PM PSTPraise be to ALLAH (in the middle)!
You can just wave the green-white-red tricolor
by B-Naam on Wed Feb 20, 2008 03:01 PM PSTNeither the tricolor, lion and sun, or allah with 22 allah-O-akbars should be disrespected. Each has its own symbolism, deeply rooted in sentiment. You can argue for displaying the one over the others, but no one can claim any of the three to be the rightful flag of Iran.
The tricolor comes the closest.
And the current flag has standing over the other two, well because like it or not, it's the flag of what the world knows as the entity of Iran.
That leaves the poor lion and sun! It represents a past that seems to be long gone. Long gone.
Going back to the picture, this is probably from France 98 or Germany 06. She has simply dressed to cheer for her football team. No different than any other fan.
To Honest Hassan
by AnonAnon (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 02:48 PM PST1) Yes
2)"Lion and Sun" does not represent monarchy. It5 represents the Iranian / Persian identity.
3) I would proudly wave the Iranian flag with "Lady Sun" in the middle. I am not for a lion that hold a sword in his hand. "Khorshid Khanoom" is quite representative without being violent.
My Innocent Questions:
by Honest hassan (not verified) on Wed Feb 20, 2008 02:39 PM PST1)Is it "irresponsible" if we, as opponents of the IRI, wave this flag?
2) If our flag has a "lion and sun", does that make us a "monarchist"?
3) What flag would YOU proudly wave?
