This is not a made up story and Kafi had said these non sense materials. I remember very well the excitement he created when he talked in Iran and I also remember the time when he died in a car crash and the resulting violence where some people died.
Has it ever occured to you that if you don't like what Kafi and people like him say, then you should direct your complaints to them???? And not to those who simply publish it??? It doesn't take a genius to work this out!!!
How many complaints have you made to the mullahs about materials and the stuff they have said and you don't approve of them????
I bet you made non.
You guys are too busy keeping your heads in the sand and turning a blind eye when there are stonings and other human rights violations in Iran.
How many compalints have you made about those???
Again I bet you made non.
Your mind set (and the mind sets of those like you) is keeping Iran backwards and you are at best indirectly responsible for the oppression in Iran.
All you are good at is complain about publishing the truth.
Shame on the lot of you for helping create an atmosphere of oppression and human rights violation in Iran.
Here's the thing
by You know what? (not verified) on Tue Jun 10, 2008 03:23 PM PDTWithout wishing to stereotype Muslims, because many are very good and decent people, this needs to be said.
Islam probably made sense for the desert dwellers of the Arabian peninsula of the 7th century. It certainly elevated their status in the world of that era. But it has no relevance to the World of the 21st century. It is outdated, outmoded, inherently discriminatory and intolerant.
Even its peaceful adherents are intolerant of anyone questioning Islam, never mind criticizing it. It is fine for Muslims to denigrate other beliefs and other people, but they sulk and moan about "Islam bashing" if anyone dares say anything against Islam. (I think it's well known that in other parts of this planet their slightly more excitable Muslim brethrens are not so generous and react in less friendly ways to any critcism).
The problem for them is, unlike their 7th century counterparts, they can’t force the “infidels” to become Muslim with the threat of the sword at their throats anymore (well, at least not in the West). People will question and criticize Islam, as they would other beliefs they might not care for, and they have every right to do so. If Muslims don’t like this they have three choices, they can:
- respond with logic and reason (if they are able to), or
- ignore the criticisms, or
- pack up and go live where no criticism of Islam is allowed and tolerated (and there are still plenty of those places in the world today – especially in the Middle East and North Africa)
Have a good day and remember there is nothing wrong with eating pork (except if you don’t like the taste).

by copper moon (not verified) on Tue Jun 10, 2008 08:02 AM PDTFor Muslims to adopt an attitude of complete passivity and fatalism, and to deny or reduce the scope of atrocites committed in Islam’s name, then that studied non-reaction only serves to condone those atrocities and to heighten the atmosphere of mistrust.
If you are a believing Muslim, are proud to be one, feel that Islam means ‘peace’ and are sensitive to your faith’s tattered public image, then why the hell wouldn’t you stand up and denouce the violence?
Two possible reasons: a) You’re a liar.
b) You actually condone it.

Ali234, FYI
by Anonymoussi (not verified) on Tue Jun 10, 2008 07:10 AM PDTI heard this story in iran too, except that in the variation in iran, Narges is a persian slave girl rather than Roman as in this video. This is pretty much the story line about the 12th emam that is quoted everywhere with minor variations and presented as evidence of the 12th emam from an otherwise impotent Emam Hassan. I am not exaggerating, but simply telling you what the religious authorities tell about the absent emam. If you pass by iran, ask any mulla (or maybe religious texts) about Narges and you will see a parallel story. This is not to say that other religions are devoid of such folk stories -- there are numerous similar stories in Christianity and Judaism too.
So in that view, why should you be offfended since that is what mullas claim. If you feel that this is untrue, then challenge it with what you believe the truth is. Let moslims challenge what is being said, used, and abused by mullas before non-moslims do. Moslims should not feel so insecure to be scared of being challenged (by moslims) if you want the truth to surface. At the end, who cares about what non-moslims do or say, but we should care about what WE do or say or believe in and where the truth is.

by Anonymous1326 (not verified) on Tue Jun 10, 2008 05:52 AM PDTBelieve it or not, this is how islamic revolution started. if you want to look the other way and don't see the problem then it is your choice. Kafi was the most popular mullah in Iran during islamic revolution and before he died in an accident which islamists blamed on savak (no surprise there). mullahs have been in business for telling child stories to people about Mohammad and his family while crying. Kafi is a symbol of what mullahs have been doing for centuries and how they have been able to cling on power and keeping their grip on people's life and wealth. This is not hate material but something to make you think. it is not stereotyping but showing you the reality about how your religious belief has been taken advantage of by mullahs to bring about one of the most notorious ruling systems to our country.

I am not interested in debate about religions. I am protesting this video because of the stereotyping and hate mongering it promotes. Putting a bunch of selected images of mean looking fanatic Muslims, bloody rituals and Mohammad cartoons together and adding a speech of nonsense on top of it, has no other purpose but provocation and hate mongering. I am against such stereotyping whether against Muslims, Christians or any other group of people. There is no way on earth Mr Javid or anyone else can morally justify the publishing such hate material of this website.

by پیام on Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:18 AM PDTI think that muslims must be glad to have a portal like Iranian.com where an unsensored speech by "Allameh's" like Kafi, are published to spread the word of Islam. Saying that, no one can change the fact that Islam is full of nonsense (like almost all other religions). It is what it is. The soundtrack and the storytelling of the video has not been edited at all and the visual graphics has been added to create a storytelling video matching the story Kafi is telling. No one can help the fact that the man is out of his mind and tells a story of birth of someone, like he himself has vitnessed it first hand.

Every time I visit this website there is always a video clip mocking, stereotyping, or hate mongering against Muslims. Not even mentioning the articles and blog entries.
Mr Javid, many Muslim and non-Muslim readers have already complained (many times) to you about this trend but you don't seem to respect their opinions and sensibilities. You are displaying a very racist and hateful image of Iranians in this website, which is not expected from an intellectual like you.
