MM jan: It is OK to question…

by Bavafa on

When those questions are based on genius resolve for seeking information or improvement of the process.  However, in cases of disingenuous questions which show up repeatedly will only expose one’s predisposition and bias which only leads to lack of credibility of the individual.

Let’s hope that true a sustain campaign and the help of all organizations, be it NIAC, RP and/or any others, Mr. Hekmati can receive a fair and just trail, should the charges against him prove to be credible.  Unfortunately, currently such justice system does not exist in Iran yet and short of that he ought to be freed till such system has been established.

Good for the Iranian-Americans, not them.  You called for NIAC to condemn and/or do something for the third time today.  Which seems like saying that every time there is injustice by the IRI on Iranians or in the other case, an Iranian-Canadian, NIAC should do something.  A place like the International Iranian Council would be a better venue to protest against the injustices of the IRI, globally.

NIAC has been there everytime an Iranian-American was in peril.  If your remarks are not just dragatory, I suggest asking others like RP or SAM in the case of the Iranian-Canadian to give a hand too.  Maybe together, we can be a more forceful influence.

NIAC Urges Iran to Reverse Iranian American's Death Sentence

NIAC condemns the lack of due process afforded to Iranian American Amir Hekmati and urges the Iranian judiciary to overturn his death sentence.

National Iranian American Council (NIAC): NIAC Urges Iran to ...

National Iranian American Council (NIAC): Washington Post ...

National Iranian American Council (NIAC): NY Times: Iran ...

from NYT article:

"

Trita Parsi, president of the National Iranian American Council, an advocacy group critical of Iran’s government, called the sentencing of Mr. Hekmati “part of what the Iranians and the United States are doing right now to position themselves for the coming negotiations in Turkey.”

Mr. Parsi noted that unlike other cases of espionage against Americans, notably those of an Iranian-American journalist in 2009 and three American hikers who were seized on the Iran-Iraq border, who were all freed, this case involves a man, Mr. Hekmati, with a military background.

Mr. Parsi also said that, like many Americans of Iranian descent, Mr. Hekmati had to get an Iranian passport to expedite his travel to Iran. But the Iranian passport means that, in Iran’s view, he is an Iranian, even though he was born and raised in the United States and has an American passport. Iran does not recognize dual citizens.

“In this case, the U.S. ability to protect its citizens is very limited,” Mr. Parsi said. “I do hope some sort of way out is found.”

My heart is with this mother.   Although I believe that his son is innocent, still, even if he isn't, he should not under any condition be sentenced to death.

Shame on IRI.
