German Chancellor Angela Merkel's flight to India has been delayed after Iran's government refused it permission to fly over the country.

Mrs Merkel's plane was forced to circle over Turkey for about two hours as a result, the German government said.

Germany has summoned the Iranian ambassador to explain the incident.

Just the wrong ticket

by radius-of-the-persian-cat on

Today the iranian ambassador in Berlin clarified the issue: The pilot of the aircraft presented the wrong entry code to the IRI air surveillance. He mixed it with code that was supposed for the return flight. Its a very common thing: imagine you sit in a train. Around comes the ticket inspector. You give them the wrong ticket, and the dispute starts. He might finally ban you from travelling any further, until you come back with the valid ticket.

So you see, no reason to propose any diplomatic tension.

Why this looks irresponsible, and insulting? Doesn't she treat Iranians the same? I think she hates us, what goes around, comes around.

Why has nobody told me before that I am supposed to wear a Hidjab when flying over mullahs territory ?
