Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai has named seven areas of the country which will pass from control by foreign troops into Afghan hands from July.

They are the relatively peaceful provinces of Kabul, Panjshir and Bamiyan, the cities of Herat and Mazar-e Sharif and the town of Mehterlam.

But he also named Lashkar Gah, capital of the volatile Helmand province.

Good News ... Soldiers come home

by Soosan Khanoom on

If the US wants to send troops to die anywhere else in the world, then this time let it be the children of politicians or the children of corporate execs and for sure the children of those who are lobbying for that specific war .......... But oh NO.... I do not even want any children to be send and get killed......I feel for all the kids .... I take it back... let us make sure to send the Politicians , the Corporate execs and the Lobbyist themselves to war ......... and let the poor kids stay out of it .........

As usual, you follow the BBC propaganda by using the term "relinquishing" for U.S. instead of being kicked out!  seocndly, in response to the question of who will be the next "Super Power", would offer:  China. Just wait another 10 years or less. Bless China!

US moving Out Nearly Everywhere ...

by Darius Kadivar on

US is Relinquishing it's global influence nearly everywhere. Who will step in it's shoes as the next Super Power both economically, militarily and politically influential ? China, Russia ?

Given the divisions amongst European allies that may indeed be the case. Yet neither of the two Asian Powers are Genuinely Democratic ...

Scary !
