Libyan opposition activist Guma El-Gamaty says it has been "annoying" and "distressing" to see Western countries doing business with Libya in recent years, in effect propping up the Gaddafi regime.

Middle East analyst Professor Fawaz Gerges says the West courted Colonel Gaddafi, but now needs to provide moral support and send a clear message to the Libyan people that the international community supports its protests.

freedom only for western countries

by afshinazad on

people like hussain OBAMA, doesn't care about freedom of other countries and he is going to come out make a remark when lybian regime is toplled or thousands of lybian been killed. OBAMA is spinless person and we Iranian seen his support for our people and he is has been deaf, mute , blind when it comes to their national interest, and they don't care about us. qaddafi is thug and mad man who has been killing his own people from last 41 year and never been any action from spinless western countries. just like Iran, which we have 32 year of massacre and crim against humanity.and still no concrete  action against these monsters.

Libyan dog!

by Kamran Ramyar on

Muammar Gaddafi, that Libyan dog better known as butcher of Benghazi and Tripoli is nearing the end of his usefullness to the likes of British and Americans.  Revert back to 1983 and bombing of targets in Tripoli by U.S navy and presumed dog fights over southern Meditarranean sea betwen Libyan and American fighter jets.   Both events, conducted during Ronnie "the Hollywood" Regan's presidency,  were nothing but theatrics meant to prop up faltering image of U.S. military might(Vietnam proved that!!) and re-igniting thoughts of grandeaur amongst neo-colonialists.  These acts were conducted with advance knowledge,  complete cooperation and complicity of Maummar Gaddafi and his henchmen.  One must not forget  ensuing Lockerbie PAN-AM bombing and loss of 230 innocent lives , again staged to portray Gaddafi as a total lunatic - which he is - and to further justify/ legitimize America's aforementioned military actions.  What the sane world - specifically Libyan people - must do with this filthy dog is to capture and put him on trial for crimes against humanity including his own countrymen, treason, lying, corruption, and complicity with colonialist powers.  They say revenge is sweet but at times uncalled for.  In this particular instance I beg to differ.  Cut the SOB and mail the pieces to his children.  Let's make an example to those aspiring to be dictators.

A Complet Lunatic ...

by Darius Kadivar on

Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has appeared on state television in Libya to denounce anti-government protesters who took to the streets and seized control of several cities.

He said he was ''a fighter'' and would ''die a martyr at the end''.

There was renewed violence in the capital, Tripoli, as the regime battled to reassert its authority.
