A car bomb has exploded in the city of Karbala in central Iraq, killing at least 10 people and wounding dozens more, officials say.

Police said the target for the blast was a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims.

Karbala is a place of pilgrimage for Shia Muslims.

The latest attack came as Iraqi leaders were heading north to the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan for top-level meetings aimed at finalising a power-sharing deal for a new government.

Iraq has been without a government for eight months after inconclusive general elections.

The blast went off just 150 metres from the shrine of the Imam Hussein, one of the holiest sites in Shia Islam.

May one day those

May one day those responsible for all the carnage in Iraq are brought to justice.

I yearn to see GWB and Cheney in the orange jump suite, along with their British gang member.

And for added fun, I hope they get to share a cell with Khamenie/AN gang.

What a Coincidence ...

Just when Iraqi leaders were heading north to the city of Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan for top-level meetings aimed at finalising a power-sharing deal for a new government.I bet it's the IRI which is behind this. The Bombing ( which even if it killed Iranian Pilgrims) occured just when Top Talks were supposed to be held between Iraqi Officials and the Kudish Autonomist Leaders on how to share power. What a Coincidence. Now they want to blame it on Al Qaeda but I don't buy it. Unless of course IRI is in direct contact with Al Qaeda Members which would not surprise me either ...
