Two suicide bombings at a Shiite mosque in heavily Sunni southeast Iran killed more than 20 people Thursday, including worshippers and members of the Revolutionary Guards, state media reported.

The attack came as people celebrated the birthday of Imam Hussein, grandson of the Muslim Prophet Mohammed, a day also set apart each year to honour the Revolutionary Guards.

More than 100 people were wounded in the attacks, which came only minutes apart, at the Jamia mosque in the restive city of Zahedan, capital of southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Escape

I'm begining to think it is hopeless

No matter what happens to Iran the Regime will blame Isreal and/or the USA and I believe the majority of Iranian's in Iran will believe them. The IRI is so useless and insecure it cannot admit a failure. The Scientist,Rigi, the MEK,the Election Protest's,etc.Every single thing is the fault of America and Isreal if it makes any sense or not,if there is proof or not.But then they will say the Sanctions do not effect them..How about that? Everything else is America's fault but the sanctions,no problems there lol..

You are making very valid points escape.

I also like to add that Iran is a very multi ethnic, multi national country. That creates challenges to any government. Islamic regime has added another dimension to this challenge by treating Sunni Iranians as second class citizens.

The issue is Rigi and the treatment of Sunni Balouchi's.There's always this problem, they look too hard for underground reasons and cannot see the above ground reasons staring them right in the face.Same thing happened to the protests, first thing the IRI did was blame the West's interference.Every issue they confront this way.

They should focus on the main issue of the treatment of the Sunni Balouchi's.I'm sure they have little if any representation in Iran.If there wasn't a problem it wouldn't have happened. It sounds so ridiculous that these people would be talked into blowing themselves up by the US and Isreal.

I believe the terrorism is going to continue to grow in Iran and not because of Isreal or the US.But because terrorism is an accepted Islamic alternative of Democracy. This is what happens when you don't let people have control or a compromise. They have to send their message with violence.

why we need to be rid of religion

by mahmoudg on

let us shun this crap cult we call Islam, and we can all live happily togehter.  If there is no religion, then there is no need to be at each other's throat.  let us be the second empire in man's history to shun one religion for another, in this case for none and be agnostic.  Incidentally the Persian empire was the first.

The head of Guards political bureau, Yadollah Javani, pointed the finger at United States, Israel and other Western countries as possible planners of Thursday's bombings.

We refuse to admit we have a Jundallah problem..Repeat..We refuse to admit we have a Jundallah problem.Isreal is the problem...Isreal is the problem...This message brought to you from the Nazi Revolutionary Guard.
