More Iranian newspapers shut down

Iran's Press Supervisory Board banned the sport magazine, Goal, for publishing pictures and content "contrary to public morality," and it also issued warnings for over 14 other publications.

The Board announced that Badr local monthly has also been shut down for "slandering government officials and bodies as well as spreading rumors and falsehoods."

Alborz Sports also received a warning for "content and photo violations" and the case was forwarded to the judiciary for their refusal to the heed the warnings.

Over 14 other newspapers and publications ranging in subject from economy and news, to sports, health and arts have also received warnings from the Press Supervisory Board.
