In a letter written to Khamenei, Fatemeh Karroubi said her 37-year-old son with rape while he was detained at a Tehran mosque. RAHANA Prisoners’ Rights Unit – In an open letter written to Khamenei on Saturday, Fatemeh Karroubi revealed the details of the treatment her son, Ali, received after he was briefly detained on 22 Bahman. According to Fatemeh Karroubi, his son was arrested after his father’s car came under attack by the Basij militia. Ali Karroubi was then taken to Amirolmomenin mosque where he was severely beaten along with other protesters who had also been taken to the makeshift detention facility. When the agents found out about Ali’s identity, they separated him from other detainees and turned him over to the special guards who tortured him and threatened him with rape. The guards also taped the session as they were beating and torturing him. After the guards received orders to release and transfer Ali to Shahid-Mottahari base, the agent who was in charge of torturing him said, “Had you stayed here another 24 hours, I would have turned in your corpse”. Ali Karroubi was later transferred to Shahid-Mottahari base where the staff released him.

So...they'd even rape a fellow akhoond...
by Cost-of-Progress on Tue Feb 16, 2010 09:21 AM PSTYou know the anti nationalist establishment is desparate when they rape their own kind (the akhoond speices also know as Akhoondes kassafatas).

IRI cyber groupies are denouncing "arson" now (LOL)
by AMIR1973 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 09:02 AM PSTIslamist garbage who set fires in 1978 and burned the Cinema Rex (the bloodiest incident of the Revolution--far bloodier than Jaleh Sqaure) are the ultimate thugs and parasites in Iranian society. back then, they were called "chomaghdar" and "komiteh"; now, they are called "basiji" and "pasdar". Bottom line: Islamists and Islamist cyber groupies are bad for a nation's health whether in Iran or elsewhere (e.g. Sept 11 in the U.S. and bombings in Madrid, London, Bali, etc).

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Feb 16, 2010 08:54 AM PSTNo one said US is perfect.
1) But you are mixing an incident with official policy.
2) Two wrongs don't make a right.
3) We are talking about Iran.
Now be a good boy and go back to your masters for new talking points. This one was rejected. Need a new one. Yare not going to convince anyone of the benefits of rape.
In the video his boss says he was acting properly
by amgw4 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 08:11 AM PSTNot sure where you saw him getting punished. Regardless, the point is if that's how a 72 year old lady gets treated for talking back during a traffic stop, think how you would be treated for riots and arson.

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Feb 16, 2010 08:08 AM PSTI have lived in the USA since the revolution. I know how they treat people. During the Bush presidency I wrote the most nasty things about Bush and Cheney on blogs. I also said the most nasty things about them both at work; on the phone etc. I called Scallia every name in the book! I donated to causes that opposed them. Not one thing happened to me. No retaliation; no threat of rap; no torture; no jail. My boss took me out to lunch since he agreed with me.
I openly denounced right wing Christianity. I have friends who are polytheist pagans. No one does anything to them. They go around in the woods dancing naked and no one stones them! I know Baha'i who are open about their religion and no one bothers them.
The violence in Iran comes from your side. The thing from the others is reaction. However people won't be cowed forever. One day all your sides violence will come back. The chickens will come home to roost. When the and his cronies rape people they are guaranteeing a response. It will come and it won't be pretty.
Thanks for sharing the video amgw4, but......
by MM on Tue Feb 16, 2010 07:53 AM PSTWhile the deputy in the video is going to be disciplined and the 72 year old lady is going to get rich by suing the police department, let me ask you; did anyone get scrutinized for beating, rape and murder of protesters in Iran? For real, not for show!
BTW, the green protesters in Iran did apply for permits repeatedly and they were denied. What are they to do, be sheepish? Or, maybe say that it is the wish of VF so everything is rosy?
Some REALITY for you folks

This should give you a sense of what would happen to you if you rioted in the USA.
VPK - the question is...
by MM on Tue Feb 16, 2010 07:28 AM PSTis there anything these Islamists have not done in a mosque?
In a Mosque!
by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on Tue Feb 16, 2010 07:18 AM PSTThese guys in IRR call themselves people of god? They claim to be pure and poious. What a joke.
This is what is destroying the name of not just Islam but all religions. I read all this about love on Arash's blog. Then our dear IRR "Islamists" go out an behave worse than pigs. No wonder so many Iranians are rejecting not just Islam but all religion. Then you have angw4 aka Alireza defending this pure filth!
People wake up! If you want your religion to be respected you must reject the IRR thugs. A thousand poems on love will be overshadowed by one such act.

The same gang who burned the Cinema Rex
by AMIR1973 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 06:39 AM PSTThe same murderous thugs who came to power by burning over 400 people alive in the Cinema Rex are now denouncing "rioters". Now, that's rich, baby.
Try writing an article against Obama or Gordon Brown
by AMIR1973 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 06:35 AM PSTTry posting a blog entry against Nicolas Sarkozy...Try leaving your house without a scarf on your head (if you're a woman)...Try disagreeing with the leader of the U.S., Canada or other democracy, who is the representative of the Twelfth Imam (oh sorry, that's just in the Islamist paradise). Try violating the tenets of Christianity. Try being a Bahai or atheist openly. You know what they will do to you: nothing, because decent societies (with all the problems and flaws that they have) don't jail, flog, kill, torture, and rape their own citizens for such acts. But, IRI cyber groupies on Iranian.com know that better than anybody else: that's why they don't live in the IRI.
Try aquiring some empathy
by AsteroidX on Tue Feb 16, 2010 06:23 AM PSTTry aquiring some empathy and humanity towards your own flesh and blood and then I'll discuss with you. Until then goodbye.
Again, try rioting in your city and see what the police do to yo
by amgw4 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 06:14 AM PSTDo an experiment.
What is primitive is your brain
by AsteroidX on Tue Feb 16, 2010 06:12 AM PSTThat you cannot distinguish thugs that exist in ANY movement with the majority, and what the Movement represents. The people in prisons are intellectuals, activists, students, journalists, minorities, etc. ... but I doubt if you will accept or have the capacity to understand what the Greens are fighting for.
Also, when you say "try it and see", why are the murderers of Neda and rapists still free? why is Montazeri not being tired? Why are people executed for the most trivial crimes and called "enemies of God"? This is what is wrong with Iranian society, not a bunch of frustrated and angry people who have been repressed for 31 years.
Try it in your city and see what happens
by amgw4 on Tue Feb 16, 2010 05:31 AM PSTGather a group together, and go set buses/cars/buildings/police stations on fire, shut down affluent areas of your city, and make political demands - see what happens to you. Of course no political group in the West uses such primitive techniques. Only the green movement is this infirmed.

by AsteroidX on Tue Feb 16, 2010 02:12 AM PSTOnly 1 day old ID, welcome to the site. Or are you just another Multiple ID abuser? Not brave enough to use your normal ID?
Obviously you are an ignorant and do not know what the Green Movement is about. Your stupid comment "A party who tries this anywhere would get the same treatment" sums you up. SO are you saying protesters in other countries are tortured, raped and murdered? And that innocents are shot in the street?
Go back to your cave.
Primitive politics
by amgw4 on Mon Feb 15, 2010 11:14 PM PSTThe green movement is such a primitive political group that the only strategy they have is to riot and burn. A party who tries this anywhere would get the same treatment.
