President Barack Obama’s administration said earlier this month it would invite Iran to US embassy barbecues for the national holiday for the first time since the two nations severed relations following the 1979 Islamic revolution. “There’s no thought to rescinding the invitations to Iranian diplomats,” State Department spokesman Ian Kelly told reporters. “We have made a strategic decision to engage on a number of fronts with Iran,” Kelly said. “We tried many years of isolation, and we’re pursuing a different path now.”

Obama what??
by Anonymous on Mon Jun 22, 2009 10:09 PM PDTwhy does Obama need to talk to these murderers...we should call the White House and voice our concern. OBAMA can not do this.
It is all in the Plan.
by Mehdi Mazloom on Mon Jun 22, 2009 06:34 PM PDTObama didn't get to where he is today for being stupid. As one who is well versed with Islamic cultural & customs (their over inflated ego, need for respect and recognition, etc), he and his advisers had already figured out the Mullahs weakness and strength. He knows their hot buttons.
This "semi-Negro", will stick it to the Mullahs over and under, with smile and handshake, before they know what happened to them.
Yeah, invite these backwards, make them feel important, stroke their egos in public, while behind their back Obama is masterminding one of the major coups to take place in the entire ME & Gulf region.
There are good reasons why he chose Cairo, and few days before the Election in Lebanon to "speak to the Muslims from the heart". a) affect the outcome of the elections in favor of march 14 groupe. b) boost Egypt's position as peace make and de-facto leader of the Arab world - not Iran.
He was in Egypt to put the final touches in new and powerful alliance being formed between Egypt, Israel, Saudi Arabia & Jordan & West Bank, to take on Iran. After which, it will pave the way for peace between Israel and ALL it Arab neighbors. (Hamas is being pressured by Egypt to drop the Mullahs and rejoin the PLO, or they will be on their own, dangling on the Iranian thread).
If one can guess, these riots in Iran, are just the first in a long chain of events to be occurring throughout the ME - all designed to weaken the regime in Iran, and finally replace them with a secular and democratic government.
