One of two reformist candidates in Iran's upcoming election is lashing out at President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his denial of the Holocaust. Former parliamentary speaker Mehdi Karroubi says Mr. Ahmadinejad's claim that the Holocaust never happened, only serves to antagonize the West. He also says such comments help the rest of the world to stand by Israel.

President Ahmadinejhad
by Taytelbaum (not verified) on Mon May 18, 2009 09:47 AM PDTFor two weeks now i'm writing comments on your comment boxes... Leaving you with thoughts seen through one spectator's 'free' eye and mind. This of course is in fact not harmful, and yet... Taytelbaum is a Jewish name. And therefore, I could never be reliable... Simple enough to understand so far.
But Iran is our land of learning too, about all civilizations, mostly achieved through ancient warfare with e.g. Greece. Whoever wants to know about mankind and civilizations, must come to Iran/ Parsumash. Why would president Ahmadinejhad in our century antagonise the west with his denial of the Holocaust? It just doesn't make any sense. He could have at least be polite and leave this to obscure politics. Instead he chose the cynical way. Very inappropriate for a man of his stature.
