Iran's president under pressure amid poor health rumours

In the last week, however, the 52-year-old leader has missed a cabinet meeting and failed to deliver two official speeches.  A string of broken appointments from earlier in the year has also come to light. Mr Ahmadinejad, who has a reputation for being a workaholic to the point of hyperactivity, may be suffering from the strains of office.  Rapid falls in the price of oil are adding to his woes. Iran produces about 4.2 million barrels of oil every day, making its economy and national finances largely dependent on the price of crude. Yesterday, oil was trading at about $66 per barrel – less than half the peak price of $145 recorded in July.

Too sick or to unpopular to run for President again?!!  The report suggests that "illness" might be his way to save face under mounting pressure not to run for re-election.  Time will tell.

I think he has a good chance of re-election just like George Bus

I think he has a good chance of re-election just like George Bush. I would not count him out since over the past 4 years he has extensively travelled to all the "red states" in Iran.

His pictures and vidoes of visiting the red states are abundent in this website. He took a lesson from history and it is time Iranians learn the same lesson and prepare accordingly.

Otherwise, there will be Mahmoud for 4 more years!

I think he is actually a really good guy. Just not fit to be a President. I pray he gets better.
