Russia Claims Independence For Georgian Provinces
NPR

Russia has recognized the independence of the breakaway Georgian provinces of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. Georgia's president Mikheil Saakashvili declared Russia has no legal basis in the matter. He and other Georgian leaders fear it will lead Russia to eventually annex the two territories.

you are funny guy man but you said it! I can feel the excitment of former commis and tudeh's. after years in retirement time for them to go back to work for their masters. All they need is having an empty suite U.S president to let them play and soon obama will give them a green light.

Farokh2000, interesting argument. Hmm, lets see. Lets make some comparison:

You said “invasion and occupation of 2 independent Countries”: -          U.S intervened in Afghanistan after it was attacked by a group in Afghanistan that was supported by the illegal and illegitimate Afghan regime of Taliban. Russia was not attacked by Georgia, or any group in Georgia (Or Abkhazia or S Ossetia for that matter), and the Georgian president, unlike the Russian one, was elected in a democratic and free presidential election.  -          U.S didn’t “invade” Afghanistan to add it as a new U.S state since Afghanistan is a free, independent, democratic nation recognized by the U.N and the world. Russia attacked Georgia and annexed two of its provinces and declared them free, and none of those provinces are recognized by the U.N or anyone else as independent nations or part of Russia.   -          U.S had the support and approval of U.N and most, if not all, governments and world public opinion when it went to Afghanistan. Russia has none of the above. The whole world has condemned Russia’s actions. Even its closest allies, including China, are not supporting Russia’s action.  -          All that being said, U.S didn’t even want to attack Afghanistan. It gave an ultimatum to Taliban to hand over UBL in return not to get attacked, but Taliban refused. Russia has brutally entered not only Abkhazia and S Osettia, which are part of Georgian territory, but it has entered other Georgian territories.   -          Finally, lets pretend that U.S has done wrong…how can two wrongs make it right?   And the list goes on.  How brainwash can you be to thump on any logic, reason and fact? How much hate do you have for the U.S to blind you as such from seeing the undeniable fact here?!  And the statement “Russians are trying to limit the power of the Puppet regime of Georgia” shows how much you guys believe in bullying, violence, disrespect and violation of International law and justifying for assist regimes such as Iran and Russia.

I guess one criminal super power is better than the others?

U.S., fresh off the invasion and occupation of 2 independent Countries is telling Russia how to behave, when the Russians are trying to limit the power of the Puppet regime of Georgia?

I guess if they don't behave, U.S will invade them too?

We know U.S. would never invade anybody who is powerful, just the weak ones. The bet is all they can do is sit there and veto in the UN anything they don't like to see.

What a joke.
