Kirilenko leads Russia past Iran

Iran obviously was a little overwhelmed in the beginning, playing its first Olympic basketball contest in 60 years. Having qualified for the Olympics via the Asian tournament, the team tuned up for Beijing by playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue. The Jazz's summer-league team beat the Iranians 82-57, so staying within 10 points of Russia as of midway through the fourth quarter was a breakthrough.
