Iran tops Mideast in wind energy

Managing director of Iran's Renewable Energies Organization has said that Iran is the only producer of wind turbines in the Middle East.

Youssef Armodeli told IRIB that Iran's wind power plants in Manjil (in Gilan province) and Binaloud (in Khorasan Razavi province) produce 128 megawatts of electricity per year.

"Wind turbines produced by Iran are exported to other countries. The turbines made in Iran are generally 30 percent cheaper than the ones produced abroad," he added.

"Since the fossil energies are not renewable, the renewable energies are becoming more common day by day," Armodeli said.

The renewable energies are wind, geothermal, hydro power plants, biomass, and hydrogen.

Afshin.  You say: There

Afshin.

You say: There is nothing Islamic about the Islamic Republic of Iran.   The discussion about how much “Islamic” this regime acts, is a totally different subject. The statement that this regime doesn’t represent Islam or does not apply some Islamic or Quranic laws/teaching is false. In Quran, it clearly states that alcohol and pork is Haram. The regime in Iran based on that quranic statement, prohibits alcohol and pork. Now, why did Quran prohibited alcohol or how many interpretations of this verse can be done, is not the issue here. The issue is that Quran clearly prohibited those. It is clearly an Islamic teaching. So , yes, the regime is Islamic fundamentalist. Its in its constitution, in its policies, in its statements and elsewhere.   You say: It may be the "in" thing to do by joining the Islam bashers.

Thanks to Islamic fascists and the way they intimidate and physically hurt any critic, Islam has become the least religion or topic to be criticized these days. The argument that bashing Islam is the thing, is absolutely false.     You say: Maybe you're not even Muslim.  Which makes your comment even more offensive.

So if I’m criticizing something, I’m offending it? Since when? Your lack of understanding of democracy and freedom of though is very apparent in this statement you made.     You say: However bear in mind that there is no difference in your stressing the Islamic nature of the Iranian government than any other biggot stressing the Jewish nature of the Israeli government  Not true, but even if it was, how does 2 wrongs make it right?

There is nothing Islamic about the Islamic Republic of Iran.  Your comment mentioning the phrase "Islamic Regime" is grossly distasteful and downright prejudiced.  The policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran at best are a perversion of Islam.  What people like Bin Laden or Ahmadinejad do are no more a representation of Islam than Timothy McVeigh representing the United Methodist Church, or Ariel Sharon representing the World Jewish Congress.  If you're going to say something about the Iranian government go ahead be my guest.  It may be the "in" thing to do by joining the Islam bashers.  Maybe you're not even Muslim.  Which makes your comment even more offensive.  I don't know what your religion is nor do I care.  However bear in mind that there is no difference in your stressing the Islamic nature of the Iranian government than any other biggot stressing the Jewish nature of the Israeli government.  And please don't make this a free speech issue, because it is clearly not.  Whatever your feelings on the Iranian government are, I more than likely share those sentiments.  But leave Islam out of it!

Wind Turbines

by afshin on

For what it's worth I've actually seen the wind farms in Khorasan outside Mashad on the way to Neishabur and they are impressive.  And that was 5 years ago.  I'm sure much more has been added.  This government is serious about diversifying their sources of energy.  They may not have done many things correctly.  But their energy policy has been dead on right.  You people need to tone down your rhetoric and ease off on the blind hate.  The people doing this work in Iran are not just agents of the hated Islamic Republic of Iran.  They are Iranians, patriots who love their country. People that bleong to your families and mine. They have worked hard all their lives to do the best for their country.  They have may have been mismanaged by their government.  And surely they could have been much further ahead had the government adopted more reasonable policies.  But don't mix the government of Iran with the people of Iran.  They are not the same, and you should know better.  Don't regurgitate garbage from Foxnews.  Either say something of suubstance and back it up.  Or simply stay quiet.  Otherwise you risk appearing like bafoons.
