Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad orders banks to move assets to beat EU
Telegraph / Con Coughlin

The president of Iran has ordered the country's leading banks to transfer billions of dollars of assets from Europe to the Central Bank to prevent them being frozen by international sanctions, according to Western diplomats.

The funds are being moved to Tehran through a secret network of "front" companies set up in Gulf states such as Dubai.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered the move amid growing concern that Iranian banks would soon be subject to strengthened European Union-level sanctions. But his action has caused friction with Tahmaseb Mazaheri, the governor of the Central Bank. The Iranian press has reported that he may resign over the issue.

There will be no controlling those inflation rates now.  Doesn't this man have any good advisors?  Sigh....

Iran's Ahmadi nejad orders...

by Anonymous500 (not verified) on

And, here is the answer first to Senator Obama: Ah! excuse me Sir but our Mr. President Dr. Professor Ahamadi Nejad can't recieve you today, please come back tomorrow for your "Give-a-Lecture to the Heir of the Imam-e Zaman on Earth by Assistant Professor of Politics, Humanity, Cosomology, Epidimiology and Tokhmology, the President-elect, Barakat Hossein Obama Conference"!!

Obama, quite socked asks: Why? What is the hold up? Do you know who I am and how populatr I am among Ommat-e Hezbol-Chomagh in Iran and in Diyare Farang, buddy?

Yess Sir, yes, but ah, well, you know what, I mean our President is counting about 32,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Rial-Tokhmi that he has has got (with a big Bilakh) in exchange for transferring Iran's assests from European Banks and Investment Firms, so he is quite busy counting Rial-Tokhmi right now. Got it, Mr. Obama?

And to that character who calls others "animals": When you took your assests and money from international market, if you can't deposite them in some other banks--which seems to be the case--you have to sit on it, do some ghod-ghod, and call for the Imam-e Zaman to come to your help? Why because such an utterly stupid act would further deteriorate your ability to pay for all kind of services (financail or otherwise) that you recieve from International banking and investment services. It is like if everyone were to empty their bank acoounts and putting their cash under their mattreses. That economic system would collapse sooner or later.

In short, if these guys were to proceed with this utterly stupid plan, it will isolate Iranian economy further until the whole edifice collpase on these DOZD-JANI-ABLAH mullahs.

With all due respect to Dr. Professor President Mahamoud Ahmadi Nejad who in my judgement represents "dota o nesfi" Hezbollahi Mashng in Iran, I say go ahead with your plan, do it buddy, do it.

Abarmard

He is trying

by Abarmard on

The problem is not that he doesn't want to do "good" to be popular, the problem is that he doesn't know the way or how to do the management. The people in charge, similar to Bush's admin, are loyal rather than specialized. They lack the knowledge and understanding of how to solve and/or implement the "solutions" that the country is facing.

Example:

He brings in his entire administration in to a building in Tehran and asks everyone to come in and tell them the problems that they are facing. He doesn't realize that he is not a "Kad-Khoda" of a tribe but a president of 70,000,000 people. He needs to create a solution that benefits the majority rather than asking a few hundreds to come "in person" and see him or his admin to solve their problems. Let's say he solves all those people's issues, how about the rest? how about those who are not in Tehran or can't see him?

The problem therefore is lack of vision and knowhow to run a country.

Can someone please explain why this is a wrong approach?

by ./. (not verified) on

We all know that the 4th round of coming sanctions will include blocking iranian assets in iran-owned banks in Europe. So why is it wrong to move assets out of Europe? Please explain (to someone with an MBA from Wharton School, UPA).

thanks
