Are You Going To Ahmadinejad's Party?
by anonymous111.2
04-Sep-2009

Every year, when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad graces the United States with his presence for his UN General Assembly appearance, he throws a dinner party, a fiesta if you will, mainly to have an opportunity to bore us, yet again, with his boring propaganda about how he is standing up to the Zionists, humiliating the United States, when he is going to free Palestine, how Iran is the most technologically advanced country in the world...blah, blah, blah.

Invitations then go out to Iranians who live in and around NYC for their attendance at that glorious event.  For the past few years, I have noticed a certain “degree” of salivation at the mouth by various Iranians upon receiving these invitations and a great degree of eagerness to show up at this event and meet this “great” leader of “Omat-e Islam”.  Their motivations for attending the fiesta are somewhat different, some go there to jot down the exact date when Israel is going to collapse, some are there to see when America is going to disintegrate into various small Muslim countries (even though they all carry U.S. passports), some ex-leftist dinosaurs are there to see the fruit of their 1979 revolution, some are there to collect their paychecks (like Mr.’s Afrasiabi and Ommani), and hell, some are even there for the free chelo-kabob.   Some on this site who live across the country were even asking last year if they could attend (you know who you are, but I’m not going to mention your names because I don’t want to hear your denials and your justifications about it.)

All those years when you asked these stooges why are you going to break bread with the representative of a dictatorship that has committed such atrocities against the Iranian people, their response was that the IRI should be embraced, not isolated because that is the only way that it will “reform” and that is the only way that democracy will come to Iran!  Incidentally, I really don’t know if they actually believed that fairytale or that they knew at that time that they were BS’ing us (and/or themselves for that matter).

So, the question is: what about this year?  Now that we have seen the attempt at “reform” in Iran, now that we have seen that IRI version 2.0 is nothing but a military dictatorship hidden behind a thin façade of a clerical dictatorship, now that we have been reminded once again (for all those who had conveniently forgotten) of IRI’s brutality, now that we have seen the bloodshed, are you now going to attend Ahmadinejad’s NYC dinner party?  What is your excuse now?  Tell us please.  We really want to know.  If you do attend the party, what are you going to tell your glorious President when you meet him?  “Dastet dard nakoneh”?

You should know this:  America is a free country.  You have the right to go anywhere you want.  But we also have the free speech right to expose you if you do.  So, a lot of people like me will be watching to see who attends Ahmadinejad’s party (if he has the audacity to hold one this year).  And have no doubts about it, to the extent that we can, we will expose the identities of those who attend to all Iranians so that they know who is aligned with this bloodthirsty regime.  The Iranian people can then make their own judgment about the character of the “attendees”.

Dear TheMrs, I like your post very much!

by yolanda on

You have a good point!. My hunch is the something "good" is going to happen either inside or outside UN. I just got back from Swapmeet. (I am serious! Please don't laugh at me 'cause I shop at Swapmeet! LOL)  If you happen to need shoes for AN, please leave a message here, I can go get them, pay for them, and mail them to you. I want to be part of this historical & epic event! I think AN will have an unforgetable experience this time, his entourage may have to hire a lot of bodyguards, he may have to wear a bullet-proof vest. He is definitely not Mr. Popularity now! We will see what happens.

 thanks,

P.S.   I heard the Iraqi shoe thrower,Zaidi, got a nice birthday party behind bar, the guy cried when he heard he got support all over and this guy is flooded with marriage proposals! I hope he can get out soon and I am pretty sure that he has a bright future both in his personal life and professional life!

There are signs and symptoms of

by khaleh mosheh on

a very unhealthy obsession of a camel owner with this camel, becoming increasing evident when reading the comments here.

It is a wonder why the camel has not been taken to the next village to be sold or burnt on the spot as per standard Islamist practice in such cases. But hey each to his/her own, After all it seems that animal husbandry is field of academic study too.

It is also astonishing that islamists are playing the vicitm, whilst they support a government that killing, maiming and raping. You guys are remakably thin skinned considering who you lend your support to.

I get the frustration in

by TheMrs on

I get the frustration in your post. But frankly, not going to this event would be silly. If I ever get invited, I would definately go. I imagine he gives a speech. In the middle, I would get up and yell" DOLATEH COUP DETAT NANGEH MA NANGEH MA

Alternatively, I would wait until it's time to shake hands. Then I would throw my shoe at him and say: THIS IS YOUR FAREWELL GIFT YOU DOG, IT"S FROM THE IRANIAN NATION

But alas, people like me never get this sort of invitation. So I think, if you are going along the lines of giving anyone's name out or exposing them, maybe you could explain what kind of people get invited in the first place?

I'm going to the UN protests in NYC on the 23. I don't get Iranians who don't want Ahmadi there. I want him to come to the UN. It's our chance to protest. And we can yell very close to his ear.

Mola Nasredeen

"Swiss Cheese"

by Mola Nasredeen on

Said Hazrate shotor while watching camel races being broadcasted live on sattelite TV, couple of channels higher than the Aljazeera's News Channel.

"What about Swiss Cheese Hajagha?" I asked.

"It has many holes like the logic of the person who declares: Humor and jokes is the last refuge for sellouts and fools" Said he.

"what's the relationship between sellouts, fools, apologists" I asked

"This person declares humor and jokes is for sellouts, fools and apologists don't have any ghayrat! and don't love Iran" Said he without taking his eyes off TV.

"what is ghayrat" I asked embarrassedly.

Hajagha, suddenly got up and started jumping up and down uncontrollably. I asked: "is that how people with ghayrat who love Iran act?"

"No, Shaykh Abdolah's shotor won the race." He said glowing with joy.

Hajagha has a little gambling problem too but that's besides the point.

We all knew you were joking - what did you think?   as I said before, Humor and jokes is the last refuge for sellouts and fools.  the very type of dry humor you display.

To others - These are some of the most important times in the history of our nation.   If there is any Gheyrat in us - we must make a showing against AN in NY (Sept 23-24) like never before - one the world would notice and AN would never forget.   And that is exactly why the IRI apologists have turned jokers here.   I hope I see all Iran lovers there.

Jaleho,

by Mola Nasredeen on

Mola was joking too, just like Q and you. As I had indicated before "I agree with 4/5 of what you say and I am willing to compromise on the rest for the right price!"

But on a serious note, many of us would've preferred Mousavi to be elected and for many good reasons. I give you one example.

Ahamadinejad's words and actions have created a whole new army of enemies for Iran. United States probably would've attacked Iran or supported an attack on Iran by Israel if a warmonger like McCain had been elected as the US president. Iranians have been super lucky.

It disturbs me when I read the personal attacks against you and Q. I get them too, sometimes. And I appreciate your patience in the face of these personal attacks. Your writings on this website proves the depth of your knowledge and understanding about the dangerous situation that Iranians inside Iran are facing.

Souri, I like to thank you for your honesty and openess.

Q, Souri

by Jaleho on

Q, I know you were joking of course, as I kinda thought that Mola might be joking as well about wanting to bring his hazrat shotor to NY, although not so sure about that one. But, I will try to find more info about this, and if date and time allows the possibility, I will be there.

Souri jan, see, it would be better if the dirty posts were not deleted so people would see the real character of Shazdeh better when they pass by here.

But hey, I hope you used the short opportunity provided to use your "kar gir." Shazdeh's original post could have helped others to sieve character of posters through their very own "khar girs"

Tudeh party was always kissing up to the blood thirsty Islamists.

Their glorious leader (Kianoori) was using a Yazdi handy on the monster Khomeini, right to the day of his arrest.

It is refreshing to see that the Tudeh followers and people-sellers are still keeping the same tradition alive.

By the way: it is HILLARIOUS that you "guys and gals" are using your real names, but the Dirt and Dust are using "fake aliases" ... LOL

Sleep well together, as the Islamists are going to the same dirt-bag, where the communists have gone already!!!

I have always followed your posts and I do understand your position very well. I knew you were joking. alas, not everybody in this thread have the same sens of humor and the level of intelligence.

I think exactly the same way : Talk is cheap ! As you said:

" I find it hilarious how "gung ho" and brave a bunch of on line commenter with fake aliases can be!"

How courageous they are,  isn't it?

People who come here under fakes name and types insulting post, advising the same threat for "the other party" that we are condemning IRI of doing to our children!

They advise baton even for the members of the site, and the editor who think this vulgar posts should stay there 24 hours before they get deleted ! What you think about this?

FYI, they are planing here to organize the trip to NY, from Montreal, and if they do, I will go with them too.

But, I do not need to come here to venter myself and talk cheap, insulting people that I don't even know their ideology and their mean, just to buy myself some credibility as a member of a site that its credibility is going under serious question.

Neither do you :) Let them have fun with their keyboards.

Civility

by benross on

Maybe I'm too new to this site to understand what is going on. Maybe here was always a chat room with members enjoying spending time jumping at each-other. But this is not what we are about is it?

Spreading hatred and personal attacks are not part of civil discussion. This blog was about a call to protest a PR scam of Ahmadinejad. There was no call to 'bomb Iran'. No call for a fashion show. Only to come with flags -and cameras- to protest and to expose those who participate as supporters. You may not come to protest. You may come. It was a call to unity. I know I can not come. But the idea was launched and those who can and want to do something about it will do. What is this nonsense?

I understand that sensationalism is attractive, addictive. CNN was broadcasting live for hours and hours a SUV moving on the highways. It ignites and intrigue the shallowness and emptiness of our mind. We give ourselves to it because it's easy. It doesn't make our brain work so hard. And this was done -and still being done- by best journalists in the business. But I'm sure there are other ways to keep the site attractive. I think we are better than that.

I don't think this is part of our 'dialogue' experience that we need to pursue. It's goal is only to stop the dialogue and divert it to the mediocrity. Enough is enough. This is not what we are about.

The reason

by amirkabear4u on

Personally the feel of meeting this man makes my hair stand on the back of my neck.

But I can imagine why Iranians attend this event;

- a lot of Iranians want to be involved in their country's events and there is not much to choose from. It is just unfortunate he is there too!

- secondly and maybe more importantly a lot of us do not know how dirty Iranian politics is. If they did know they would not attend.

- I think they should attend because if they don't IRI's officials will pocket the event's expense money. Why should this money be used by them? The oil money belongs to everyone. Everyone should go and enjoy themselve just for a laugh. Having said that I am not sure this time is the right time unless he does not attend which I do not think he will.

Q

Question for all the "brave" freedom fighters in this thread

by Q on

First of all, Jaleho, I was joking. I'm not going and there's no spa. I'm against Ahmadinejad's policies and I might be protesting outside, but not this time if it's going to be dominated by assholes with "bomb Iran" signs like it was last year.

Besides, as the campaign showed AN effectively used these protests to his advantage portraying himself as a truthtelling underdog. A buch of 'gherti' Persians in New York with Lion and Sun flags will probably gain him more popularity with the groups that actually matter: those inside Iran.

But the bigger point is the hillarity of this "macho" trash talk. How does identifying participants going to give anybody more freedom? It's just like Tehrangelesis to make everything like it's "mehmooni" gossip! I find it hillarious how "gung ho" and brave a bunch of online commenters with fake aliases can be!

Look, let me save you the suspense. There will be a full delegation of people including Iranian Muslims, Christians and even Jewish Rabbies who will be shaking his hands. The question is this: What will you do about it?

You, who, already know who went in years past since you have pictures and videos of them. WTF have you mustered the courage to accomplish with this information?

chirp...chirp...

That's exactly what I thought!

Mr Yassari had promised to go there at any cost, to protest against him and his presence in US. I believe he will do it.  So at least there is one person from the site that I know for sure will go to NY for that event.

PS, Moderator: I was about to flag a comment below, but it was already flagged by another person. You should leave the flog button open, as long as you did not delete the offending post. This way you will see how many people are disgusted by that post. If the post is already flagged, then what are you waiting for deleting it? Don't you think there are enough hate speech in this site ? How long is too long for you?

The shoes at Swapmeet are cheaper than Payless. If you throw shoes at AN and get caught, you will go down history as a national hero just like the Iraqi guy, Zaidi. You will make headline around the world like Team Melli's green wristbands at World Cup qualifier, so just think about it!
