Translation: A Prayer Before the Meal
by A Hassan (lall) Danesh (not verified) on Wed Feb 18, 2009 07:16 AM PSTO my kind Lord
Thank you
Ror this meal
That you have put before me
I do my best
To eat my meal gently and slowly
Instead of devouring it in rush and in hurry
Like a hungry beast
This way during having my meal
I have time to pause in between briefly
To remember you in continuity
For without you
There might be no meal coming after this one
---Amen
Great photos, but...
by Anonymous22 (not verified) on Wed Feb 18, 2009 06:43 AM PSTIf I learnt anything from our history is we don't treat our kings all that well!! So I'd change the title...
My philosophy is if anyone from Iran promises to treat me like a king/queen I run like hell!!!
I went back to Iran after 27
by Anonymousss8 (not verified) on Tue Feb 17, 2009 04:58 AM PSTI went back to Iran after 27 year, this summer. I only regret why I didn't do it sooner.
Best food, best people, best nature ......

by Arash Kamangir (not verified) on Tue Feb 17, 2009 03:50 AM PSTI read all the comments. Some nearly had a orgasm by the way they described the pictures! Perhaps some of us look up to our mullah leaders in Tehran too much.

Experience: Hold on to It for a Little Longer
When the music is great
You want to hear it louder
When the fabric is silky soft
You want to to touch it longer
When the scenery is beautiful
You want to get to it closer
When the smell is awesome
You want to inhale it deeper
But when the food is great and delicious
Please don't gobble it all up in rush
For you then miss the life time experience

by KB on Mon Feb 16, 2009 03:29 PM PSTWhat about some concern for the rest of us...
I looked at every picture, and could almost smell and taste each dish with my saliva glands working overtime. It really is not fair doing this to the rest of us.
I should think you packed a few pounds on this trip though...
Lovely.
Cheers

If not, come to DC,I'll make you Bozghormeh, although it won't taste as delicious as the one they serve in Ostaan e Hasht.

by Monda on Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:48 AM PSTthere are a few items that I'm curious about. I never had aash e kadoo...sounds and looks heavenly! I will look for recipe online. Then I always wondered what kolompe was...it looks like a large version of noon berenji, is it? And then naan Kermani, Wow...which again is not in my cook books or bread book.

by ebi amirhosseini on Mon Feb 16, 2009 10:09 AM PSTif you look closer,Alahazrat has provided us the name in the caption:
Aash e Kadoo.
My grandmother used to make this Aash & another one called :Omaachoo.
I believe they are traditional kermani dishes, since Kerman is my parents' home town.
I also see kolompeh, ghottab,(shirini khoonegi kermani) ,masghati( sweet desert)
No " Boz ghormeh" ?!.
