Photo essay: Capturing special moments many of us pass by

by Banafsheh Hejazi
07-Feb-2010

A fan writes: Banafsheh is a rare gifted talent in our time. She captures the special moments many of us pass by in our normal everyday routine. As an example of this she shows us a glimpse of a finely prepared meal, two friends playing chess in the park to the ornate architectural wonders of the past and present that inhabit all areas of her beloved Iran. Through her imagery she draws forth both the hard and soft aspects of what exists in life for everyone all around this global universe >>>

Monda jan, unlike you and Maryam, writing comes with a lot of pain for me. This was a short trip and with a purpose. I'm planning to go back soon. Maybe I'll do a photo blog?! Banafsheh and her thoughtful set of photos will be my mentor.

nice pics - I need an answer for kharbozeh gardening dilemma

#81: shahr-e farang-eeeee, as ham-e rang-eeeeee

nice pics

The pictures of the fruits reminded me of my own kharbozeh  endeavors in gardening.  I have a green thumb, but apparently not when it comes to kharbozeh.  In large pots, I get large healthy kharbozeh plants that bloom, but the blooms die out without taking fruits.  I have tried artificial pollination and other fertilizers, but no dice.  Does anybody have an answer to these useless blooms?  I appreciate it.

I was not able to find Natanz pear in Tehran last month, the one in this picture is either imported from Turkey or Chinese pear.
