Photo essay: Rick Steves in Iran and other stories

by Abdi Sami
27-Oct-2010

After producing Rick Steves’ Iran for PBS and receiving many emails asking if I would consider taking Americans to Iran, I founded Solh Tours. I take two tours to Iran every year. My favorite moments are when Iranians and Americans make an emotional connection and Iranians are seen for who they are.

Me Abdi Sami, Just wanted to know if you took all these pictures yourself or are you using pictures taken by others?

Do you have permission from people who took them to publish them without credit as well as permission to post their pictures without thier knowledge or approval. A note of explanation would be appreciated.

Curiosity and good will of the travelers, plus efficiency of the touring company facilitating the trips. Also as I hear, tourist visa can be obtained through the tour company.

I still don't understand the significance of the visits made by foreigners to my homeland.

Never increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.
