The home of liquid gold

Photo essay: Visit to Tequila, Mexico

by Jahanshah Javid
01-Jan-2009

Tequila is an agave-based spirit made primarily in the area surrounding Tequila, 65 kilometres (40 mi) in the northwest of Guadalajara and in the highlands (Los Altos) of the western Mexican state of Jalisco. The volcanic soil in the region surrounding Tequila is particularly well suited to the growing of the cactus-like blue agave, and more than 300 million of the plants are harvested there each year. However, U.S. and Mexican laws state that tequila can be produced anywhere in Mexico, and the country boasts several other tequila-producing regions>>> Wikipedia

Great photos as always, JJ. A bottle of Curevo if the caged crow isn't the Iranian woman.  On the other hand, I hear the birds line up at the factory to volunteer. Happy new year.

Let the Palestinians and Israelis fight their own fight while we chat about Mexico and Alcohol, I'd rather be looking at photos of Persians having fun than Palestinians getting blown up anyday, Isn't it enough that all the weapons and money is coming from Iran, now you want the Iranians mourning for them?

It take 3500 calories to lose a pound!

I am not a drinker, but I occusionally drink a glass of red wine.Wine has antioxidant and it is supposed to be good for you.It fight the free radicals that breaks up the cell that causes aging.Hard liquors in other hand are almost all sugar and tequila for example has about 40 percent alcohol.Drinking too much is the cause of obesity.Once those weight are stuck to our bodies it takes close to 10 hours of workout in gym to lose a pound.I have been working out for the past one year, but I have not even lost a pound.I think the scale is lying to me:)

Fantastic country

Mexico is fun to visit. Real nice people.
Baja's desolate deserts and Villahermosa's creepy jungles are a sight to see. I do not know how to upload pics on this site, maybe later - sometime.

Mexico is specially good for haughty Iranians to visit. They get knocked off of their high Aryan horse. It teaches us humility. Too bad they sometimes seem to be just as corrupt and lackadaisical as the descendants of the Peacock Throne. But these banditos are not half as opinionated as you know who,

Nice pictures and liked your comments. If anyone is into distillaries, Jack Daniel in Tennessee is a great place to visit also.

Tequila goftiyo kardi

by Esmal Latte (not verified) on

Tequila goftiyo kardi kabobam! If I go on this tour god knows what would happen to me! First I'd be like a kid in a candy story wanting to try those tequilas in fancy bottles. Next, could be anyone's guess!

I have so many embarassing stories about drinking Tequilas, dancing on a table is the least embarassing!

By the way those Tequila bottles at the end for $8, that's what I get and I pay about $30 -$40 and that $100 bottle, I'd certainly buy one even if it is for the heck of it!

Lastly JJ picture 54 (cover pic) is a good pic of you. See a little less smile and less eyebrow action makes wonders! You can smile a bit more ;-)
