Deep Breath of Ancient Air

I entered Iran knowing I was lucky. Several of my friends and acquaintances cannot visit due to fear of government reprisal or visa restrictions. This trip was for all of you--for those whose entry into their motherland has been denied. And for you, I took a deep breath of that ancient air that we all keep so dear to our hearts.

زندگی در ایران بسیار مشکل می باشد

from Iran

Last time I was there, the Milad Tower had not yet been opened. The views of Tehran are a sight to see from its high top.

And yes, the air is ancient mixed with with a heavy dose of gasoline fumes emitted by ancient vehicles that should have been out of circualtion years ago, but that's another story for another blog, I suppose.

Thanks!

 THANK YOU so very much!!!

That was a whirlwind of new and an avalanche of memories. I want to jump into those food mountains, especially the goje and gerdoo!

Pffft, now I have to go and munch on my minimalist lunch!

Thank you for taking us to Iran! Wow! So many interesting places to visit in one trip! The fascinating photos: Persian hookah bar, silkworms, a guy with nose job, giant mural on the wall, Persian handicrafts, Persian prayer rugs and tapestry, gorgeous milad tower, khaju bridge, Seminary (University for mullahs?) in Qom with beautiful mosaics! Thank you for sharing!
