A day in heaven

Photo essay: Gaudi's Park Güell

When I arrived in Barcelona, four of the five places recommended for tourists were Antoni Gaudi's creations. On day one, his Sagrada Família church lifted me to heaven. On day two, I was IN heaven, spending all day at Park Güell, which Gaudi built a hundred years ago on a hill in Barcelona. You'll see what I mean. Enjoy!

Just Like Iran Minus Islam & Dumb Dictators

by HHH on

Deduct Islam and all other religions from Iran.

Add freedom, add great management, leadership, laws and organization.

And within 10 years Iran will be Heaven. We sure have the potential.

Stadium

by Jahanshah Javid on

Nader, I walked by the stadium, didn't get a chance to get a tour. But a teenager and his dad were sitting next to me on the subway with a big photo of them standing with David Villa in Barcelona. Villa had autographed it and it was in a frame. They looked thrilled :)

pic 42,43 and then i lost interest

by i_support_khamenie on

i was looking through the pictures until i saw # 42, 43 and then i thought this is just plain annoying.

these sites have become so commercialized, same types of people with plenty of time, trying their best to get the most out of their money.  you only need to hear at such a place someone speaking in english to ruin your mood..."hey roger, get the camera!"

i would advise people to go to places where we feel welcome and unique like lebanon, morroco....you get to see places, get to ride horses and camels, get to talk to locals, who might ask where you from , "i'm iranian"  and they show an excited and welcoming reaction.....unlike these overcrowded euro. places where no one cares who you are, where you come from....so sterile...

park guell, probably to spaniards is like yellow stone or grand canyon to americans.....15 minutes and you're done looking at bushes and nature.....

go to places where you get to see people in their unaltered forms....acting like they do everyday....and where yoiu feel you share a bond with them .....
