The National Gallery of Art was created in 1937 for the people of the United States of America by a joint resolution of Congress, accepting the gift of financier and art collector Andrew W. Mellon. During the 1920s, Mr. Mellon began collecting with the intention of forming a gallery of art for the nation in Washington. In 1937, the year of his death, he promised his collection to the United States. Funds for the construction of the West Building were provided by The A. W. Mellon Educational and Charitable Trust. On March 17, 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt accepted the completed building and the collections on behalf of the people of the United States of America >>>

Princess & Souri, thank you very much! Very helful hints!

by obama on

I got two tips: short and shorter. I hope this helps those who had the same problem as well. This indeed makes life much easier for me! Thanks!

Princess

66 is...

by Princess on

Monda jan, 66 is Sol Lewitt's work.

Obama, if you click on the IranianCom logo on the top left hand corner of the page, it takes you to main page.

Monda

how can we get the photo on front page?

by Monda on

The couple going down the stairs - your best shot in this series - as an E card? The lighting is perfect, the subject profound, reflective of earthly connections.

Souri

I give you my suggestion

by Souri on

Obama,

JJ may show you a better way to fly back to the main page, but I have my way which is this one:

When you reach to the last page (or any other different page on the pictorial) to return back to the main page you must go to the URL and delete every thing which come after the word: /main

Here is how you must do:

The last page here where you find your comment is here:

//iranian.com/main/image/94548

to go back to the main page, you just have to delete the part which I put in bold character and you get this : //iranian.com/main

Here you are at the main page.

obama

JJ, my apologies! oops!

by obama on

Now I know that I haden't misunderstood you before this. I see what happened.

question: How can I go back to the main page, after viewing the photos on your site without going back one photo at a time? I am always forced to log out and log back in order to go back to the main page. Is there any other way that I can go back without loging out?  I'd appreciate your response.

Your comment

by Jahanshah Javid on

obama, your comment was not deleted. You left a comment under the last photo, not on this page.

I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

obama

jj, i wrote the first comment& complimented you, Why deleted me?

by obama on

saying you saved me a trip was offensive? I actually enjoyed the beauty of the photos that you took. I thought that now that I have seen your photos, when in the future I'd go there I don't need to visit the gallery, since you did such a good job showing it to me.

Not that it really matters to me, but I am trying to understand you better, so i do a better job of sensoring myself, before you do. merci!

Souri

Very nice!

by Souri on

I loved them all. You did an excellent job, JJ. Daste shoma dard nakoneh.

It seems like visiting a gellery personally, so much those pictures were true! I loved the # 33, it looks so real :)

Thank you.

66 is one of my favorites because of its composition ... not only you have a good eye for beauty, your compositions are attractive.

Not sure

by Jahanshah Javid on

I didn't look at the names of the artists very often. I have a feeling #66 is more recent than Rothko's time and the lines in his work were more blurry -- I think. Not sure at all.

One of the Best places to visit

On Earth!

Do you happen to remember who #66 is by? I'm thinking Rothko era?
