Excellent interview - where are the other parts?

by Anonymous Observer on

I've always thought that blaming the torching of cinema on the poor Shah is kind of like blaming a murder victim for his own death.  Why on earth would the Shah want to do this heinous act?  To accelerate his own demise?!!

On the other hand, this fire has all the hallmarks of Islamists nuts...the mass murder, the cinema being targeted, indifference to killing civilians, etc.

There is a difference between the public knowing of the

conspiracy, that takes a long time, and the people with the power of information knowing of the conspiracy because they had a hand in it or the power to buy the information.  Conspiracy just means... an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; No one on the face of the earth says that a conspiracy was not committed, that would be plain stupid.  The evidence of treachury, evil, unlawful are all there, as is actions being done in secret with aims in a plan (because so many secret plans were disrupted and uncovered and others were later), as is more than 2 people involved, clear.  There is zero question of whether a conspiracy existed or not.  The problem is "conspiracy theories" and I do not beiieve in those or ever knowingly or intentionally particpate in spreading those.  The Unwise that say I am speaking "conspiracy theory," which is very different than a conspiracy, which clearly an extreme majority would agree did exist and almost none have a basis to despute it, are almost in every case the exact same mor-ons who with a straight face call the late shah a dictator/megalomaniac/crook/autocrat/despot, in place of lawful king , highly experienced or authoritative.

Shemirani

hummm After reflection !

by Shemirani on

Amir you are probably right !  If you mean that it was a (uk/usa) plot. It can easily be a foreign plan executed by a criminal "nokar" , after all it happenned many times in Iran history !! And in that case we will never find  any evidence  until 70 years !!! You are also right i never thought of that before and even if it sounds conspiratorial, i think it makes sense, specially when we know about Oil company strike and how it happenned !

Yes i'm also suprised by older generation inconsistency and intellectual dishonesty ! For Last generation bashing the shah was more than enough to be an intellectual,  a liberal,  a humanist ! few of them are still like that in this site or on voa /bbc ! hopefully, the young generation is having a better reasoning ability, this allows them to distinguish khadem from khaen  !

Fascinating interview

by Reality-Bites on

It's good that we are finally getting to hear the truth about the Cinema Rex tragedy, after so many ridiculous made up rumours and fictitious stories over the years.

My thoughts are still with the poor victims who only went to watch a film on a night out, but ended up dying such a horrible death.

Shemirani You give the regime far to much credit,

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

they were not even involved in most of the planning in 1979, that was left up to the UK, USA, France, Israel etc.  The forced unemployment of abadani's from oil plants, the mass local unemployment, the aim of agitiating this large and recently angry due to unemployment/population, played like a violin by the planners.  The USA really has to be congratulated, because they accomplished something that after 33 years ordinary people like you shemirani can not see the woods for the trees, you are like most Iranians in that respect.

I was asking Ali M on his blog, a question, I wonder what Your view is?  Are you ever surprised at how stupid the last Iranian generation were to
believe everyone but the shah regarding his own character, as it was being
demonized using propaganda?  The one about being an
autocrat/despot/dictator really surprises me to this day.  It's just
such a worrying level of stupidity for me, and on national scale, one
wonders what Iranians are expecting to accomplish following stupid self
serving lies.  Then there are the anti-monarchists that continue the lie
in fear they will be figured out.  Though I think the younger
generation pretty much knows what they are up to and can see through
them.

Shemirani

A Crutial event

by Shemirani on

Cinema rex tragedy was the final point of the former regime . innocent people died, savak was  accused, people were obviously shocked and full of anger !  after that we all understood  we had reached a  point of no return ! khomeini & followers got to power !

Good interview ! can't wait for more parts, i didn't get my answer from this two parts . Did the regime planned it all, to manipulate the population ?! i think they were makavellian enough to kill innocent compatriots to gain to power !
