CNN: As Iran prepares to meet again with the U.S. and other countries to negotiate its nuclear program, the country's economic minister insisted in an interview Sunday with CNN's Fareed Zakaria that the crippling sanctions imposed on Iran were not having as much of an impact as believed. Minister Shamseddin Hosseini argued that his country has a much broader economy than just oil. "Last year, the total non-oil exports increased by 30 percent and according to the latest reports that the International Monetary Fund has published, Iran's GDP – Iran's per capita income has also increased," Hosseini said in the interview on CNN's "Fareed Zakaria GPS." >>>

Lying champs!
by Arj on Mon May 21, 2012 07:35 AM PDTIt seems like IRI's reps are under the impression that they enter a B.S. competition when they communicate with the international media!
Just as his bosses, Ahmadi, who claims that he has created millions of jobs and Khmanei, who claims there's no crisis, this guy calims that sanctioned would hurt the West more than they do Iran. In that case, why IRI's chief precondition for negotiating is removal of sanctions? Shouldn't it be the other way around?! Kind of reminds one of Saddam's info minister, Saeid Alsahaf!
The only ones who benefit from such sanctions, are the Arab sheikhs of Persian Gulf and other oil producers who'd cash in on the high prices of petro.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy!
by Faramarz on Mon May 21, 2012 06:24 AM PDTSo this economics genius from the Regime believes that the sanctions only hurt the western economies and will drive the price of a barrel of oil to $160 by August which should be great for the Regime. Then what is the problem?
Sanctions and more sanctions until the Regime collapses.

With Sarkozy out Obama wants appeasement with Mullahs
by Darius Kadivar on Mon May 21, 2012 05:44 AM PDTObama opposition to the IRI is just for the show. He wants to make history once re elected just like Nixon with China in order to justify his undeserving Nobel Peace Prize.
Folks like Fareed Zakaria, MAziar Bahari and other IRI Lobbyists will do all the explaining to convince mainstream medias into believing in all this neo liberal crap that the IRI is reformable ...
Just you wait ... Voting Obama equates indirectly voting for Trita Parsi ...
Not that Mitt Romney is my cup of tea and I will definitively not vote for a Mormon turncoat no more than for demagogue neo cons but as an Iranian American who advocates Regime Change and not merely 'reform' of the IRI I definitively won't vote for Obama for a second term as I did for his first election ...
Obama may be good for America ... He is a disaster for Europe and definitively for Iran on the long run ...
He will legitimize the IRI and you will all fall for it too just as you did when you fell for Khatami's smiles ...
I actually won't be surprised to see Khatami and the Reformist make a comeback as a treat from Khamenei to Obama his "muslim" brother ...
Fool me once fool me twice ... but mark my words for the future:
