AFP: India said Tuesday it shared the United States' goal of preventing Iran from building a nuclear weapon, but insisted the Islamic republic remained an "important source of oil". Visiting US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged India to reduce its imports of Iranian oil, while a new US law will next month slap sanctions on nations that buy oil from Tehran. India, which depended on Iran for 12 percent of its imports last year, says it has cut Iranian imports substantially despite initially insisting it would not join US and European-led efforts to choke off Tehran's oil revenues >>>

Why should they ? One of the Great Ironies both India & SA
by Darius Kadivar on Tue May 08, 2012 11:14 AM PDTWhy should they ?
One of the Great Ironies is that both India & South Africa the two nations that have given the world two Role Models and Icons of the 20th Century: Muhatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela have in recent years supported the most ruthless regimes to date: Bachar Assad's Syria, Muamar Ghadaffi's Libya and Khamenei's Iran regardless of the Human Rights Violations ...
To all you folks (including your pseudo intelligentsia: Ramin Jahanbegloo and Co) who keep boasting about Non Violence and see in Gandhi and Nelson Mandela such great Role Models ask yourself why the two countries which keep boasting about these two great men are so indulgent with third World leaders with some of the most horrendous crimes on their Report Card ? ...
What examples are they setting for the "citizens of the world" who often like to see India and South Africa as "examples" to follow ...
I Rest My Case !

Airtight sanctions NOW!
by Fred on Tue May 08, 2012 01:21 PM PDTPetrodollars are the fuel which runs the Islamist Rapist Republic (IRR).
For the sake of avoiding the war the warmongering, nuke acquiring, Iranian men, women and children raping, maiming and murdering messianic Islamist Rapists are deadset on imposing on all, airtight sanctions including air/naval cargo inspection is a must.
