Iran says 'retired' Guards among Syria hostages

Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi appeals for their release

AFP: "Retired" members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and army are among 48 Iranians taken hostage in Syria by rebels on the weekend, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Wednesday, the ISNA news agency reported. But he denied the rebels' allegation that the Iranians had been on a military mission, saying the former military personnel had been exclusively on a religious pilgrimage to Damascus when they were seized on Saturday >>>

vildemose

Honey, I'm obsessed with early retirement. If they offer me a package, will go anywhere. Syria, IRI, name it.

Currently, teaching English and Italian in Guadeloupe. Bloody nightmare. French speaking people are hopeless when it comes to foreign languages.

It explains my obsession with early retirement, I hope. ;o)

Salehi also made a public appeal for their release.

"As we are in the sacred month of Ramadan, and both the hostages and kidnappers are Muslim, we send a message through the media to those who have taken our citizens: Take the necessary measures to release our citizens based on Islamic brotherhood," he said.

Severance Package!

As a part of the downsizing at Sepah, these 48 were offered early retirement package (thank you Rea) that included health insurance, 401K and an outplacement trip to Damascus!

Most large US companies do the same thing all the time.

Well, a bit too late to hand in their retirement papers now, after getting caught I'd say !

Let it be a lesson...to bassijis and sapahis back home....to take early retiemet..before it'd be too late...

Damascus has shrines for shiites

by mahmoudghaffari on

The "retired" guard members were in Damascus to revere Imam Bashar. As if the many thousands of these worthless Imamzadeh's in Shia iran is not enough, now Iranians have to cow tow to yet another worthless Arab despot on his way to oblivion.  Next on agenda is the removal of the leeches of the Islamic Republic of iran.

For an Iranian equivalent of Joachim von Ribbentrop he doesn't look like someone who would pray 5 times a day ... Yet he apparently does given that Black Mole on his forehead ...
