بی بی سی: همانطور که در خبرها داشتیم کاروان ورزش ایران با کسب دوازده مدال در المپیک ۲۰۱۲، از لندن به خانه می رود. نتیجه ای درخشان برای ورزش ایران که نسبت به دو مدال کسب شده دوره قبل در پکن، جهشی محسوس است. علیرضا فولادی گزارش می دهد.

I hope one day we will see Iranian women in fields like swimming, diving or gymnastics. We have the talent but because of our ignorant government we are falling behind.

Iran's athletics suffering due to discrimination

These sports acheivements also highlight one of the gross shortcomings of Iran's athletic policies, namely severe limitataions placed on women's participation in various fields of competition.  Had Iran afforded the same liberties to her female athletes that other nations do, dress code being an obvious one, quite likely more medals would have come Iran's way and the winners wouldn't be exclusively male.  And what about facilities in Iran?  Do men & women share equally in availability of such facilities, even if segregated?
