Israel "scales back operations in Iran"

TIME magazine

TIME: Israel’s intelligence services have scaled back covert operations inside Iran, ratcheting down by “dozens of percent” in recent months secret efforts to disable or delay the enemy state’s nuclear program, senior Israeli security officials tell TIME. The reduction runs across a wide spectrum of operations, cutting back not only alleged high-profile missions such as assassinations and detonations at Iranian missile bases, but also efforts to gather firsthand on-the-ground intelligence and recruit spies inside the Iranian program, according to the officials >>>

Mamoor joon,

by AMIR1973 on

Israel pays me in cold hard cash to be their mamoor. The problem is that the cash is Rial, so it loses its value by the hour. Next time, I want the Zionists to pay me in shekels for my mamoor services.

P.S. Would you like some Papadum with your Tikka Masala?

Mamoor joon, are you paid in cash or soybean meal and rice?

by AMIR1973 on

Since IRI is being offered soybean meal and rice for Iran's oil, it's only fair that you also be paid in soybean meal for being a "mamoor".

P.S. You are not funny enough for comedy. Stick to serious subjects, aziz.

Isreal's propaganda and misinformation machine never fail to stop trying, but Iranians know them suckers better. One day they're only a day away from launching a pre-emptive attack on Iran soil(and of course their "pre-emptive strike" is not a secret----it's all over the newspapers :-) and the next day a bunch of soosools and college kids get together on Tel Aviv's street corners singing "We love you Iran"...and the next day they defy U.S.'s order not to think of any pre-emptive strikes by announicng on the world's media that "Isreal will decide for herself how to defend its soil"  برو بابا حال نداری...خر خودتی

By feeding misinformatin they're "trying" to keep us on our toes.

Let's talk about Shahrokh Zamani

by vildemose on

Our friends at Human Rights Watch have condemned a new wave of arrests of independent trade unionists in Iran - earlier attacks on free trade unionism have been catalogued on this blog and at Justice for Iranian Workers. They report that:

  • on 15 January, intelligence agents arrested Shahrokh Zamani, a Tabriz labour rights leader, and summoned two others also in Tabriz;
  • authorities also arrested Shays Amani, a prominent rights activist and member of an independent trade union in the city of Sanandaj on 16 January;
  • on 18 January, security forces arrested Mohammad Jarrahi in his home in Tabriz; and
  • on 28 January, authorities arrested Alireza Akhavan, a teacher trade unionist, in his home in Tehran. It is not known where he is currently being held.

Earlier in the month authorities detained Mehdi Shandeez and transferred to Ward 350 of Evin prison in Tehran. All those arrested are activists or members of independent trade unions not authorised by the government.

“Independent trade unions have played a critical role in protecting workers’ rights under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s presidency,” said Joe Stork, deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. “This latest round of arrests continues a long and ugly tradition of targeting independent trade unions to enforce full state control over these groups.”

Unless you're an Arab,

Unless you're an Arab or a non-Iranian of some kind, you are equally responsible for the "cultural lumpenism on this site." That is according to Ms. Azadeh Azad.

You may not have noticed, but Ms. Azad seems to believe all Iranian men are lumpens and not just those who happen to disagree with you or her, on this site.

Soosan Khanoom,

by iraj khan on

I've walked around this block a few times,

I don't expect anything more than abusive language and their dedication to the last racist regime on earth, Israel. I know this gang's activity for several years.

They don't mind if United States is dragged into another destructive war, or if Iran is bombed and Iranian scientists assassinated, they actually are advocating for both.

It's all done in the name of the "Chosen People' who can occupy, kill, destroy a whole nation all because they are the 'Chosen People'.

Soosan khanoom, thanks for your comment.

AI

by Shahab Ferdowsi on

Could you kindly elaborate how views expressed on this site on assorted threads helps keep the IRI in power? Surely the majority of people logging into this place and reading comments are not as fickle as you believe them to be nor are our words as powerful as you say. Please give the silent majority more credit and kindly stop insulting people's intelligence with such irrational nonsense.

As for your slur about agents of the IRI here: MOSSAD is well known for employing psychological reversal tactics where operatives attribute to others what they themselves are guilty of as a way to smokescreen their crimes and silence their enemies. It is the oldest dirty tactic of psychological warfare in the book and it is one implimented on this site quite regularly by a whole range of posters.

For the record, I do not get paid a penny by anyone to express my views here or anywhere else. If however AI and his friends have hard evidence to the contrary, they are always welcome to provide such evidence for public scrutiny.

On that point, I have to agree with Azadeh Azad, this place is rife with cultural lumpenism!

I am just disagreeing with the article because it doesn’t make sense.

Now to address your points.

If Iran was crawling with Mossad agents and an Israeli attack was imminent, it makes more sense to keep the undercover agents in Iran to do a post-attack assessment and also do other intelligence work rather than to pull them out. Usually the diplomatic corps and their families are the ones that are being pulled out in the anticipation of an attack because they become hostages.

I have no information that any of these operations have been carried out by Mossad and the Regime has not put forward any credible information that points to Mossad either. However, looking at the way the Regime reacted to the assassination of the Basiji guy who was involved at Natanz and the professional way that it was conducted, I could say with some certainty that the Iranian guys on the motorcycle who did this were trained. Now we can speculate that they could have been trained in Iraqi Kurdistan or in Azarbaijan or somewhere else.

Mehrdad, one thing that I have noticed lately is that you seem to be the only person on this site that completely misunderstands what I am saying!

Farmarz jaan: Maybe, maybe not…

by Bavafa on

If the report turns out to be factual, could it be that there might be an attack planned and they want to get their agents out before their attacks are carried out?  I am not implying anything, only asking and wondering.

Also, are you implying that those operations (i.e. the assignation of nuclear scientists) had been carried out by or at the directive of Mossad?  If so, shouldn’t we all condemn this clear act of terrorism?

And lastly, what should it be  more important to Iran and Iranians to discuss here, a few cyber basiji/otherwise on IC with their hate filled two-a-day-blog  postings or the alleged Mossad operation and act of terrorism by foreign entities?
