i have been watching the videos and reading the comments almost in disbelief. what a long way we have come. for queer iranian men and women to openly show their faces and talk about being queer in such numbers. even a few years ago this would have been impossible to imagine. i am proud of all these brave souls who have came out despite the extreme homophobia that is still so widespread among iranians.

Bipolarity and my suggestion.
by comments on Mon May 16, 2011 12:50 PM PDTWhen scientists speak about biopolarity they refer to bipolar disorder ("i.e. a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated energy levels, cognition, and mood with or without one or more depressive episodes.").
One could be a bipolar disorder despite of his/her sexual orientations.
If one wants to feel more confidence and appreciative of him/her sexuality, I suggest to watch "Where the Word Mine". It can be accessed in Netflix as well. I like the part starting from the middle of the movie after giving a flower to others.

Funny. What the heck is your "normal"?
by comments on Mon May 16, 2011 06:52 AM PDTPeople function physically and mentally because of their own body mechanism and biochemical pathways. Everybody is unique. His body metabolic pathways are unique as well. That's why we have scientific fields such as personalized medicine and so on. Personalized medicine means that because of many different factors a drug should be made or personalized for that individual person.
All said, I want to say the person who thinks his heterosexual mind is "normal" is an idiot. He comments with no clue. He should try to know himself better and to think what made him to think that he is "normal", but not others.
Homosexuality is not normal or natural
by jasonrobardas on Mon May 16, 2011 05:24 AM PDTI believe homosexuals should enjoy as much respect and legal rights as other members of any community . There should be no discrimination or prejudice against them in any form . I have , however, difficulty in perceiving homosexuality as "Normal " or "natural". This may sound contradictory but it is not .
Obviously all human beings are not formed in the shape of nice identifiable packages that can be easily labled as "male" or "female". it is therefore, essential to be sympathetic towards such individuals .
We do not condemn people who are color blind. Such folks do not detect certain colors but they are not responsible for such abnormality . Showing prejudice against any person with any form of handicap in a civil society is unethical and unlawful . The umbrella of "human rights" justifiably shields any such group.
We know that the continuation of life depends on bi-polarity of sexes . In the natural world ,It always takes a positive and a negative . We see this bi-polarity in all natural phenomena (thunderstorms, rain ....etc). Thus how one deem homosexuality as "Natural" or "normal"?

Repect and understanding is
by comments on Sun May 15, 2011 07:46 PM PDTRepect and understanding is important. But, it's more important that they have legal rights.
If they have legal rights, people won't give a shit for someone who doesn't want to grow up and respect others.
