Artists raise awareness about the suffering of women imprisoned in Iran

NTDTV: A special concert was held in Tel Aviv, Israel to raise awareness about the suffering of women imprisoned in Iran. The concert featured songs poems of Iranian writers and musicians. Israeli musician Heftsiba Zer Aviv, who is also the organizer of the concert, performed Iranian as well as Western music. Marina Nemat, a writer and former prisoner in Iran, touched the hearts of the audience... recounting her arrest by Iranian security forces during the Islamic revolution. Marina Nemat!?

As long as any types of awareness happens, I really don't care where the awareness is happening.  Perhaps, some govenment benefits indirectly, but the governments can benefit whatsoever because of their authority power.

I am surprize that none of you questioned/critisized Marina Nemat, as the presenter.  Her biography was translated in 20 languages, and it's an unusual biography.

Thanks for this very clear statement. One could only add, that many  gouvernments and other self-declared leaders always attempt to seed hate between nations or between people of different faith or different culture. My firm believe is that people are always able to live peaceful togehther, unless they are manipulated and fooled by political or religious cheaters.

Excuse the Peace loving and good-natured people of a country for holding an event honoring and raising awarness for the plight of their counterparts in some distant part of the world!!!

It is a sad thing to see people closing their eyes to the facts and events that are happening right before their eyes. BUt as MG said... Shab deraz ast....

conservative by the day, but there are still many, many great individuals , organizations and movements in there that oppose the current policies. As informed Iranians we should pay more attention to the sane ones. And the winds of change from tunis has reached levant.

Ok Golinedairani let me put it to you this way. Do you think organisers of this event would organise a similar event to protest Israel's Apartheid Fascist policies? Did you know it is illegal for a none Jew to marry a Jew in Israel? And I'm not even talking about religion here. I'm talking about racial Jews(as in Atheist Jews)...A couple of months ago an Arab man got a 2 years prison sentence for having consensual sex with a Jewish woman. His only crime was that he lied to her that he was Jewish.
When I left Iran I used think that the IRI was the most Evil thing since Satan himself until my eyes were opened.

are willing to live in peace with Palestinians. There are many progressive Israeli women, workers, peace,.. organizations working with Palestinians, and Israeli Arabs.Some might say that the winds of Tunisia has not yet reached Levant, but....shab draz ast o ghalandar...

we're dealing with and not just any ordinary run of the mill  women's oppression. This Gender-Aparthied is a  very peculiar, specific  amalgamation of a Shia, Iranian ,  male dominance phenomenon. As far as aparthied, god knows we have all kinds of them, some claim even in Israel. How about a program on Solidarity with Abused Isreali Women. There was a study done back in the 80's showing how the soliders coming back from West Bank and Gaza had a drastic increase in domestic violence cases. The aggression continues.
