Dear Ari

by HHH on

Just the mere fact that he called Obama "A slave who would've washed dishes otherwise" means he believes that Obama, a mixed black man, is supposed to have that position in life while as Dr. believes he doesn't, because "A seemingly weak character can surpass a seemingly strong man, and therefore Islam and Muslims can overcome all obstacles."

Neither blacks slave or forced to wash dishes for nearly 2 centuries nor success or weakness of Islam or Muslims can be compared to the position of slaved Africans in the 18th century west.

Islam is judged by the actions of Muslims toward each other and toward the world and judged negatively mostly because of Israeli anti-Islam propaganda on the Jewish-owned world media.

And if we look even deeper, Obama election wasn't because America suddenly lost it's prejudice against blacks but because after the terrible mess Bush family left behind they had to elect a total opposite man to George Bush to continue America's still-the-same foreign policies which is set by the same good ol' ZioNazi billionaires in Europe, Israel and US.

I wouldn't give the "Dr." so much credit.

Racist or maybe politically incorrect

by robertborden54 on

Thsi man is the perfect combination of an academic who nevertheless is a bit racist.  Yes, he is saying that thanks to one person one vote Obama is elected.  And he also characterizes Obama as a dishwashing slave.  He does not say he would have been a slave.  He characterizes him presently as that.  Of course he doen't mean it literally.  It is just that deep down he equates blackness with the image of the slave. It is facinating to see the discussion here as an example of hearing what we want to hear:  The initial reaction against him turns into an interpretation of his words that says to us he is one of us (liberal, cosmopolitan, wetern, etc.).  The problem is neither interpretation is true.  The man knows what western values are and has studied them but those values have not become part of him.  There's racism lurking just beneath the surface.

I agree with Ari

by princeofpersia on

He is saying owing to democracy and the power of people's votes, someone who would be washing the dishes (if the slavery were not abolished) overthrew a bully like George Bush. He makes perfect sense all the way through his comments.

well done ari

Looks like you listened and thought before posting!

Sometimes I don't.

Ari is right

by divaneh on

It was very clear that he compared the fate of the Obama in the time of the slavery and the present world. I think he makes perfect sense in wanting to turn Islam into a more peaceful religion. It seems that he is talking in a philosophy conference, hence emphasis on philosophical issues. We need more people like him.

Disenchanted

I don't think so...

by Disenchanted on

The way he said it, Obama being a slave was granted. The fact that he is not washing dishes is the benefit of civilization!

Regardless, it is rest of his "wisdom" that deserves the scrutiny. In case you missed it he is using the notions from Aristotle and medieval ages when it comes to discussing human nature etc. These idiots have missed few centuries of advancement in psychology, science and pretty my everything else....

These people get to sit around tables give seminars to folks even dumber than themselves?!

A college student in the west knows much more about the reality be it the world at large or human condition then this Olaagh!

Ari Siletz

What Yasrebi means

by Ari Siletz on

From the context, I gather that Yasrebi is saying "Obama would be washing dishes if civilization had not advanced in the West and the slavery order was still in force." He is not suggesting that Obama should be washing dishes, as an out-of-context translation would convey.

From this brief clip, he seems to be criticizing the IRI application of Islam to governacne, suggesting that Islamic societies can go at least as far the West in instituing justice.

Marathon-Man

I wonder who washed your brain !!!

by Marathon-Man on

It is so painful to see someone with an Azari accent is so brain washed and backwarded.

Rather than talking about Islam and that sort of rubish you should be following your open mineded  ancesters , (Sattar khan & Bagher khan)   Dr Yasrebi.

Pish shomaha khar Philsoofeh,

I mean no offence that's the truth.
