Within days of Ahangarani going missing, Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcasting service, which had invited her to Berlin confirmed she had been arrested, the Guardian reports. "The Farsi-language service of Deutsche Welle, Germany's international broadcasting service, has learned from people close to the actress that Ahangarani has been arrested," said the German news organization >>>

They don't realize the world doesn't look at the regime differently then the people.. When you call the regime rapists, the world sees it as, "iranian men are rapist"..

Iranian genocide and cultural holocaust
by Jeesh Daram on Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:28 AM PDTAnother example of the Iranian cultural holocaust.
Please support the innocence of the Iranians. A nation caught in the
turmoil of the world shortages and greeds, in the verge of implosion
from within and explosion from outside. We are victims not victors. The
regime in Iran has been cooperating with the world to keep Iranians
hostage within its boundaries. Iranian passport is worthless, its
currency is worthless, it has the highest rate of brain drain in the world and
yet world press tells us that we are to be attacked just about anytime, should Israel, USA, Nato or Saudi Arabia decides so. We are a brutalized
nation and beware of the Iranian genocide, just like what Iraqis and
Afghans faced with.
Iranian genocide and cultural Holocaust in progress.

by yolanda on Sun Jul 17, 2011 08:18 AM PDTThank you, IranMarzban! I just hope she will be released soon! Things don't look good now......I read this article yesterday:
//www.payvand.com/news/11/jul/1155.html
Here is the hightlights, IRI is on offence:
The United Nation's Human Rights Council in Geneva appointed a human rights investigator for Iran last March. Ahmad Shaheed, the former foreign minister of Maldives, was chosen by the council to review recent reports of human rights violations in Iran.
Mohammad-Javad Larijani said the appointment of a special rapporteur is a "one-sided and baseless move that has no logical meaning." He added that Iran will only accept the UN rapporteur if the UN sends special rapporteurs to the U.S.-controlled Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib Prisons as well as Israeli prisons.
********************
We need to focus on political prisoners in Iran, not just MEK, MKO, PMOI.......Did NIAC make any statement supporting this lady? I did not hear a sound!
Thanks yolanda for the update about all sites
by Anahid Hojjati on Sun Jul 17, 2011 08:10 AM PDTon facebook for "Pegah Ahangarani". I am not surprised that she is so popular. She is really charming actress. I have seen movies with actresses like "Niki karimi" and Hatami and few other famous ones. However, may be because Pegah started very young, she brought a playfulness to some of her roles that other ones who were playing women rather than young girls did not show.

by yolanda on Sun Jul 17, 2011 07:56 AM PDTI have no idea what the UN rapporteur is doing? His silence is deafening. Is he on some type of "Stealth" mission? Did he sneak into Iran under cover? Is he writing his report? It is so easy to get arrested in Iran! So easy! The good thing is the this lady is very popular; her fame is her best protection for the time being! There are total 8 websites on facebook for this lady, 3 sites are "Free Pegah Ahangarani" sites. She has combined total 8000 fans and supporters on facebook!
People's struggle in Iran is for "the minimum human rights"
by Roozbeh_Gilani on Sun Jul 17, 2011 07:40 AM PDTCorrect, thank you.
And may I add the other araes which people are and will be increasingly struggle for and the corrupt regime would not deliver:
Jobs, food, accomodation, healthcare, education
"Personal business must yield to collective interest."
This is the proof the system is NOT reformable
by aynak on Sun Jul 17, 2011 06:49 AM PDTListen to sec 51 to minute 1:34. That captures the jist of the struggle in Iran, for the minimum human rights, which have not moved even an inch forward. The proof is in those who said they *Believe* in this system and *Want* this system, to work, and yet are all in prison or dead.
Any thing that won't bend, will break. Just a matter of time.

by پندارنیک on Sat Jul 16, 2011 10:10 PM PDTWhy our lady vildemose doesn't go to the movies or clubs for being entertained by those who are professionals in the showbiz, instead of getting a cheap buzz out of calling me names is truly beyond me; some of those places run ladies free nights for the weekends............Real ladies, however, don't need those kinds of distractions in order to behave properly in the public, they simply follow a moral quota for their judgement and for what they say.
I will not post a reply to a responding comment, (if any).
Pegah Ahangarani is such a lovely actress
by Anahid Hojjati on Sat Jul 16, 2011 09:35 PM PDTI have seen couple of her movies and I am a fan. One movie with her was Maax. It shows how unpopular IRI is that they have to arrest a young actress. thanks Ghormeh sabzi for posting.
