Mousavi and Rahnavard "missing"

Daughters say no word from either of their parents

New York Times: A main leader of Iran’s opposition was reported missing on Thursday and both the opposition “green movement” and Iran’s hardliners issued calls for street rallies, escalating tensions after the reemergence of street protests and their brutal suppression on Monday.

The daughters of the missing opposition leader, Mir Hussein Moussavi, told an opposition Web site that they had had no word from either of their parents since Tuesday and feared they had been detained. Security forces have surrounded their home, and all communications have been cut.

On Wednesday, the Web site of another opposition leader, Mehdi Karroubi, reported that the house of his eldest son had been raided and damaged by security officers seeking to arrest him.

Calls have intensified from Iran’s Parliament and judiciary for the prosecution of both men, who have been accused repeatedly of waging war against God, a crime that carries the death penalty. This week, as the opposition revived in solidarity with uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, law markers in Parliament called for them to be hanged >>>

This is why I call Islam "Gift of Deev" (not the IC deev :-}. The followers are psychopaths who need to kill. They prefer to kill others but will kill each other also. It is really Zahhak all over. There is some truth to legends we got.

Cost-of-Progress

Isn't this kind of strange?

by Cost-of-Progress on

You steal a revolution (nevermind why and all that stuff, nevermind who was behind the "revolution), you rule with an iron fist for 30 years breaking every code for human decency and nationalism, you betray your national identity by adopting the laws and ways of an alien culture that calls you "Ajam"; you emphasize the importance of embracing your opressors - those who murdred, enslaved and raped your ancestors. At the end, you end up having "conflicts of ideology" and break up and supposedly are at odds with the system which you have vehemently supported (and still support in principle) for many years.

They supposedly come and take you and your wife away to some undisclosed location. No one supposedly knows where you are.

I don't know what to call it:

- you get what you deserve and hope all you cockroaches have the same fate?

- I hope the infighting breaks up your evil little empire - soon?

- I am glad that you are showing your true faces to a populous that, still after 32 years, hasn't had enough of your nonsensical murderous rampage?

- You deserve one another?

VPK, I dont really know what will happen to them...

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

You see I have zero contacts within the islamist regime etelaat ministry!

Having said that, my guess is that islamist regime did not arrest and imprison them before the 25 Bahman due to fear of public backlash. So it'd certainly not make sense for them to do so now. But I am now firmly convinced that the regime leadership is in a state of shock and unable to think properly, so anything could happen to these two men.

The outcome I am fairly certain is what I said before.

"Personal business must yield to collective interest."

This is what I know...

Mousavi's and Karroubi's days are numbered. IRI's so-called leader took his fifth trip to Qum a short while ago and secured the support and/or silence of almost all Grand Ayatollahs. Kayhan ran a column on this subject too.

They 're considering to do it during Noe-rooz, taking advantage of uncrowded Tehran.

Never increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.

I hope they do something to Mousavi. Two birds with one stone. The regime will shoot itself in the foot and we get rid of Mousavi; good; I hope so!

The reason they ruled for 33 years is complex. The real incompetence happened since the rigged second term of AN. That is when they made their big mistake.

Roozbeh_Gilani

If Mr Mousavi or Karoubi are seriously harmed or killed.....

by Roozbeh_Gilani on

The regime will be finished within a week. I have no doubt about that.

Also regime made a critical mistake by putting them under house arrest. This only freed the more radical elements within the Green movement to take virtual leadership on the 25th Bahman. In short, regime is digging it's own grave. Really quite amazing how stupid they are and how they managed to Rule Iran for 33 years!

It's coming; by our New Year.

by comments on

I know many of you would like to hear that we'll have a new government by coming Eid, our New Year.  I am sorry to say that I am really tired of promises and too much optimism.  First, IRI is in a very strong position as always.  Uprising?  IRI can handle it easily.

Second, we fail as long as we copy and proceed with the same approach as IRI.

Third, IRI still has so many supporters.  Other than those who directly benefit, there are so many people who think that IRI is a god representative.  We have those people everywhere in all religions, but much more in today's Middle East.  Please don't be too optimistic and don't think that worse than this could not happen in such a country in the Middle East.  At least women are worth more than camels in Iran.  Mousavi and Karroubi are good puppets in people’s side this time.  That’s okay to use them now.  But, never forget who they were.  As long as the motto is "bezan o bekoshesh", "rahm nakon", "mage ma az oona kamtarim", we are in the loser side.  A deep breath, then decide.

I think you can easily play the role of Khalkhalee after the fall of current regime in Iran and when your group get the power ....... do you have any other idea but revenge and putting people in jail and or killing them ?

when are we going to stop the cycle of violence ?

Or we want to fall in Chah once we get out of the Chaleh !

it's a good opportunity for people to pour in the streets day after day and dont stop until the regime falls.

This is a good reason for another uprising. People should take advantage of this.

Hi! Norooz,

    I agree with you!

So far, MSNBC, Guardian and Washington Times have reported that the 2 opposition leaders are missing.......the News will spread.......CNN will be next!

You never know.......maybe it is the beginning of the end for IRI!

Just remember that one immolated person brought down the dictator in Tunisia!

IRI is testing the water.

by norooz on

IRI is testing the water. If IRI does't get much respond from the public, Mousavi and Karoubi will be imprisoned at the very least. This will create a 24/7 demonstrations like Egypt, instead of a day or two here and there.

IRI is playing with fire. This will turn into civil war.

So!

by mahmoudg on

he is as guitly as khomeini, khamenie, yazdi, rafsanjani and few thousand others who brought this Great Nation of ours into the situation it is in today.  If he is apared the wrath of this regime, he will be brought to trial when Iran is free.  He is "damned if you do damned if you dont".  He is a spent asset.  The iranian freedom movement does not need a color, nor a leader.  It has and should have only one motto, that of democracry.  Rule of law and no religion should be its centerpieces.
