Jamshid Ghajar

Medical advances in brain surgery

Physicians caring for patients with severe brain injury commonly think that initial trauma automatically results in tremendous disability. Dr. Ghajar believes that aggressive intervention to prevent brain swelling and oxygen starvation dramatically improves outcomes.

So much like John Stewart. I wish this Iranian jewel would have been able to live in Iran, where he truly belongs.

out there including JJ's brother; Dr. Jamshid Ghajar.  Several years ago, one of my close relatives had some headaches, the HMO was dragging its feet about authorization of MRI so my relative ended up having a brain hemorrhage. She was lucky that as the text of this blog suggests, not every initial trauma has to automatically result in tremendous disability. Her initial trauma did not. The story is long and I let her someday tell it, she ended up having brain surgery and going through rehab. As a result of this, I got a closer view of the job that brain surgeons do. That is why I really appreciate all the brain surgeons out there including Dr. Jamshid Ghajar.
