Sargord Pasdar

by Onlyiran on

It took this person longer to give her speech than for your IRI to come back with its "election results".  Ponder that for a while and then talk about "investigating" the election results.

Ban this Sargord guy

by Worcester Mo on

Hey JJ,

I have been visiting this site since 1998/9.  This man who calls him "sargord pirouz" needs to be banned from this web site.  I am all for intelectual discourse but this man is an agent of IRI and there should be NO MERCY for these people.  These people have enough places to voice their opinion.

Regarding Comments on Nader Takmil Homayoun's movie Tehroon

by Darius Kadivar on

Tehroon aka Tehran  is actually a Diaspora Film shot in IRan but it is not typically a Product of Iranian Cinema which is used to be heavily censored by the IRI. And as you may well know many Iranian filmmakers have since decided to leave Iran such as Mohsen Makhmalbaf or Bahman Ghobadi ( particularly critical of Abbas Kiarostami's deemed political neutrality- justified or not ? ) or actress such as Golshifteh Farahani or musician Mohsen Namjoo have all fled Iran as well as Narges Kalhor daughter of Ahmadinejad's Cultural advisor who has seeked political refuge in Austria ( recommended movie on Iranian political refugees in Austria: Pour Un Instant: LA LIBERTE! )

Jafar Panahi has been Less Lucky ...

Hollywood film-makers urge Iran to release Jafar Panahi (bbc)

As for Tehroon aka Tehran  it was produced by a French Company Avenue B Productions and distributed by Celluloid Films.

The director of the Movie is   Nader Takmil Homayoun ( son of historian Nasser Takmil Homayoun )has French citizenship.

I also highly recommend his excellent documentary on Iranian Cinema: Iran Une Revolution Cinematographique.

CINEMA HISTORY: L'Iran: une révolution cinématographique (2006)

If you have any further questions on films particularly in the Diaspora I am at your disposal.

Thank You Minnesota & Laura Secor ( A few recommendations )

by Darius Kadivar on

Great Speach and thank you for giving voice to Iranians struggle for democracy and human rights.

Haven't listened to everything yet but will do with great interest. Just stopped at the part on Shariati/Soroush whose ideas are according to Historian Mashallah Ajoudani at odds with the Constitutional Ideals of 1906

HISTORY FORUM: Mashallah Ajoudani on Intellectuals and the Revolution

LESSONS IN DEMOCRACY: Shapour Bakhtiar Interview with LA TV (1987)

which gave birth to the democratic and secular ideas of 20th century Persia/Iran:

HISTORY FORUM: Nader Naderpour on Iran's Constitutional Revolution and European Rennaissance (1996)

HISTORY FORUM: Ahmad Kasravi's Life, Assassination and Intellectual Legacy 64 years On ...

I would also also highly recommend you to read a little more about the Iranian Constitutional Revolution where the democratic and secular thoughts truly took root (for Soroush or Shariati are not particularly representative of a century long struggle for democracy and human rights in Iran).

May I also recommend you the following blogs as food for thought:

Sargord Pasdar, what a funny nickname.

So true, LOL.I guess he kinda feels proud to be called Sargord Pasdar.

Paidar Iran

Sargord Pasdar You are so full of it ...

by Paidar Iran on

Her speech is almost an hour and half long and all you had to complain about was that she hasn't taken the time to thoroughly investigate the election result. It is obvious that you only listened to the first few minutes of the speech where she implicates the Rapist regime of fraud and as soon as you dicovered her speech is going to be against your masters (the Islamic Rapist Regime in Iran)you stoped watching. So that is all you remember. Now, since you did investigate it thoroughly, why don't you enlighten us?

Sargord Pirouz

Honestly, this person hasn't

by Sargord Pirouz on

Honestly, this person hasn't even taken the time to thoroughly investigate the election result.

Oped editor from the New York Times- really says it all, doesn't it?
