Hassan Kamranifar

Iranian referee in World Cup 2010

Kamranifar has been an international football referee since 2001. He has been 1st assistant referee in two games in South Africa so far. In this photo head coach Ottmar Hitzfeld and Stephan Lichtsteiner of Switzerland argue as they appeal to Kamranifar after referee Khalil Al Ghamdi sends off Valon Behrami for elbowing Arturo Vidal of Chile in the face during the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Group H match between Chile and Switzerland at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on June 21, 2010 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

In the footsteps of the master

by Farah Rusta on

This is a good time to remember the pioneer of international refereeing in Iran, Jafar Namdar.

In 1994 World Cup, there was a referee called Fanayi (Fanaei)

by پیام on

His son was a student at our school. Before he left for the games he invited the whole national team to play a friendly match against the team of our teachers. I had a meet and great with the whole team and have of course lots of pictures with all the guys. Stili, Zarincheh, Ghaleh Noyi, Dayi, Ghelich and lots of others who's names I have forgotten. Anyway, he went to US and he was the lineman at the final match. I used to keep bragging about him for quiet a time :) I found this article that mentions his name:
