This is quite interesting. The same people who are advocating a change from within, and the same people who do not Think it is a wise idea to have an external stimulus and that they hope and pray to god that the IRI either already has the nukes or are in a process of getting them, and who make recommendations as to some iranian Jokers need to man up and go back and live in iran, Would prefer the comfort of their mansions in Southern and Northern california, while they are waiting for people in iran ,Whom they know very well  are under an enormous pressure and mental torture day in and day out and every peep is going to confront them with maximum level of punishment, to rise up and do whatever is necessary to make these changes. How convenient for these people. Maliat ke nadare.

You people are such excelllent actors who are doing darn well in sloganeering. Aren't you?

To the leader of the pack:

Stop creating meanigless and man dar avordi Theories to Justify your position. People who may think that a foreign invasion is the way to go, Are not limited to only the western countries and there are tons of them who live in iran too. It should be obvious to you that there are others who live in iran beside those who appear on an street before the state Tv Camera, speaking against any intervention. IF promoting grass movemets are so great, then what the hell is keeping you? Vamonos... Pack your bags and yallah. Oh yeah. You are waiting so people in iran do something on their own. I forgot. That makes you a "director" of the battle as well.

You have a tendency to throw the term insecurity in the middle of every discussion. You have no idea how those whom you have labeled as ill-wishers feel toward their own people in iran. Quit playing this game. Again, If you don't belong to the "sacks of manures" category, then besmellah. Pack them bags and be on your way, so no one would have the right to trasnport you around. show that power,  instead of incessantly preaching about it.

The revolution Was real. It is not anymore. It has turned into a dictatorship and does not deserve an ounce of respect. You are the one who need to respect the people for beliveing in that FACT. Those who are at the forefronts and call the shots live in a state of paranoia and every single one of you people know it too damn well. Vocal attacks happen because, If you have been paying attention, no one can do the same in iran. You do know that don't you?

Hope to see all of you on the next flight to tehran to implement you fantastic theories, and share your enthusiasm over most recent advances in war technology.

To MRX1

It shoubd be awell known fact that There is no such thing as being attacked by a power who is on the same level as the IRI's.So in essence you are saying that there will not be any rallying around period, and all these nonsense about people uniting is but bunch of BS?

I am glad you acknowleged that. Now please make sure that Farmande Q,  frames your message and puts it up on the wall in his office.

I fully agree as well. I have often wondered why people who are so increadibly concerned about overthrowing IRI, to the point where no other concern - even death of millions - matters, never seem to get off their own fat asses and do something themselves where it counts.

I have come to two conclusions about this vocal minority of dillusional fanatics.

1. They have such high egos, possibly aided by generations of being on top of the social/economical food chain, that they see themselves as above any "dirty work". They have convinced themselves that their best contributions to Iran is sitting behind their computers in Hollywood and "directing the battle" and "exposing the enemy" remotely, all between sips of 7-11 Super Big Gulps.

2. They have been bread (social darwinism) and brainwashed, possibly aided by years of SAVAK/CIA propaganda, to never ever trust the popoular masses, espcially Middle Eastern ones, or even allow for the possibility of grass-roots success. They have already decided this won't happen and thus foreign intervention is necessary. This kind of insecurity is very common among them.

To them only western powers can do "things", the rest of us are just sacks of manure to be transported around by them. We have no power, only Euro-Americans have power to change anything. All we can do is beg. Oh PLEASE, bomb/sanction/take away rights from our country so that we can achieve our political goals. PLEASE help with "moral" (=financial) support so we can be "empower" ourselves.

This fundemental lack of respect for Iranians explains the refusal to even accept the Revolution as real and instead indulge in the conspiracy theories about how "BBC killed the Shah" after "recruiting Khomeini from Punjab, India."

This also explains why their primary solution to everything is to vocally attack IRI but only in Western countries. Like little children who sit on their uncle's laps and cry about being hurt in school, they see their role as the "informer" to the "grown up" who has the power to act and save the day.

Well said. hope you did not misunderstand my comment below. I hope IRI is or will be nuke capable so that the deterrence is in place.

What silliness...

by Anonymoses on

Some jokers here don't seem to realize "regime-change" by external influence of a government has NEVER EVER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD worked for the betterment of the people in the said nations. The last time it was tried in Iran we got a dumbass replacement for Mossadegh, how low do you want the country to sink this time?

People who live in a place need to demand change themselves and create change themselves, the best anyone from the outside can do is encourage and publicize their initiatives OUTSIDE (not the coup thing that CIA so fashionably does) and you guys, instead of demanding that somebody drop bombs to destroy the "IRI"-- aka. the Islamic Republic of Iran aka. THE CURRENT OFFICIAL NAME OF A COUNTRY which currently includes +/- 70 million people... need to man up, go live there, and try to create change in the government and it's policies like people ARE DOING RIGHT NOW. Oh I am sorry, I forgot they're real men and women not a bunch of wussies on ~the internets~.

I agree with you MRX1

by Anonym7 (not verified) on

To some extent I agree with your statement regarding the massive invasion. ... and that is why I strongly believe that Iran should build the nukes, ...., I hope it already has them.

MRX1

there is a difference

by MRX1 on

people would rally behind IRI regime if you have a ground invasion by a force that is at same level as regime, but I assure you if you have a mass invasion by far more supperior ground forces where your chance of survival is low at best, no one will risk anything! This is not confined to Iranian, you didn't see much rallying done by french, and others when nazi Germany attacked.

Any how now assuming that an attack is going to come, it will mainly be from the sea and air with thousends of sorties that will destroy and cripple everything. As a result it will not leave much for people to rally behind.

By the way how do you get a job like guy trita parsi has? I can use an easy job.

Capitain and BBC mullah.

by KouroshS on

YT jan

I understand your sentiments on this topic, In fact that is the ideal goal for us to acheive, but the question is how, and do our people need some external stimulus or not. I hate to see anyone Propagating and encouraging change in a certain way, but i do want people who discuss such matters to talk out of a sense of mutual concern toward the actual issue, and i hate to see it turning into a personal mudslinging at the end, virtually everytime. I know that you consider such a person a traitor, but please at least hear the man out. Maybe if we don't think of each other as traitors, we can reach agreements on this site a lot quicker.

BBC jan.

Again, like i was telling capitain, this is precisely i wish we could avoid. having to divide us into IRI haters and IRI appologists. Let us keep in mind that we are striving for a common goal, freedom and improvemnets in the lives of our hamvatans in every way and we are simply dicussing here the best possible ways to get to that goal. Using various titles to describe each other motives, would only make everyone angry and frustrated and destroys the bond that we should be forming amongst ourselves.

Love you guys and your constructive comments.

Thanks for hearing me out.

Dear sheeshaki

by capt_ayhab on

Thanks for your well rounded and civilized comment.

My disagreement with your comment is very simple. Regime change in Iran is an INTERNAL affair which must be resolved by IRANIANS and IRANIANS alone.

In my book, there are no in's or buts about it. Who ever propagates any form of foreign intervention in Iran, no matter what the outcome or implications, is a traitor[PERIOD] . I'll go even further by saying I would call that person traitor even if he/she is my own flesh and blood.

Point proof, haven't we seen results of foreign intervention in Iran? What about Mosadeq?

Regards

P/S: I do not consider my self true patriot. True patriots are those young men and women, who empty handedly went in front of Saddams machine guns, or walked over mine fields. Men and women who gave their lives for Iran in past 2500 years. They are the true patriots who have my full and unconditional respect and devotion.

I've read all of your posts, masoudA, and I think you've done a fantastic job holding the line to some of these jokers (IRI apologists).

Well done!

Also, sheeshaki, you hit the nail on the head, man. As soon as one of us IRI haters talks about tougher sanctions or regime change, these jokers label us as traitors or vatan foorosh or some such nonesense. As if we want our homeland destroyed for the benefit of Israel or America! Easy targets for the chicken kabob mullah crowd!

We all know the jokers on this thread who are IRI apologists -- jokers who NEVER talk about regime change of any kind -- except for Capt. Ahab, who writes to me, "Firstly I appreciate you for coming to the grip about my intellect, chub kari mikoni ha?"

Indeed, Captain. Indeed. How did you guess? And this guy actually thinks all of my posts are scripted "101%" by AIPAC! Lol! I have as much use for AIPAC as I do for HEZBPAC!

Long live a FREE Iran, FREE of Islam's bedouin balderdash and desert fairytales! May EVERY masjed in Iran be turned into a library one day! Long live the memory of Kurosh-e-Kabir! Death to the memory of the Indian mullah!

Be open-minded people

by KouroshS on

It is a huge dissapointment that some of our friends here, despite debating some extremely good points and touching on so many important topics, feel necessary to ruin the debate by starting a who-is-a-better-patriot contest.

Mashty and Irandokth.

Not that i am necessarily in support of every word that masoud A has said in his comments, But you guys have really done this guy injustice by your character defemation tactics. You both overgeneralized everything and towards the end got emboldened by Capitan ayhab's quoting one of masoud's blogs and went overboard.

I highly doubt that anyone is in favor of an attack on IRI in any shape and form. so to call anyone who makes an statement to along those lines, a traitor is absolute nonsense. Also i think if you had read the blog in this entirety you would have realized that there are people who are or reached a level of desperation who are willing to consider any options. Again, i am not here to say that we should go their direction and take the millitary options, But as they say we have to sort through all the options.  You want to see the PEOPLE make the decision to topple or get rid of the theocracy, Yet every time a list of options are presented, the presenter is called a traitor or worse that the current leaders and pretty much that closes the case.

Not all of us are here in our cozy homes in the west! not giving a damn about what iranians are doing in iran or not caring if there is an attack, yet that line gets thrown in our faces every single time. OF course we care, Of course we want to see them leave, But tell us what practical and better and effective options are there? There are basically two options here, either there will be negotiations which without a doubt will lead to solidifying of the power, or increas the sanctions and finally The M option, which no one wants to even think about. They are both absolutely horrible, but what else is there?

You wantt a secular repulic, eh? then be willing to pay the price for it. IT is like everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to die first!!

Look, Guys. Without coming across as supporting a particular individual in this thread, All i am trying to get at is that why are we spending so much energy trying to top one another, accuse one another and defame each other, going to unneeded and totally unnecessary lenghts to bring up previous comments to supposedly revealing one another intentions!! and to make it even worse, teach others how to do this, Instead of exchange ideas on what really works and what should be done.

Trita parsi, I am sure is a fine and dandy felllow and has toope toop education and valid credentials to put enstein to shame, But supporting him or not is not going to get us anywhere.

Dear Anonymous Truth Seeker

by Farah Rusta on

Thank you for your truth seeking mind and your brilliant comment . The truth of the matter is that neither Trita Parsi nor the Iraniandotcom junkies are seeking the truth. To them the whole issue is a way of seeking publicity and keeping themselves and JJ busy.  The junkies know full well that their view of Iran is a creation of their rusty minds. They have reinvented Iran and they have reinvented themselves.

At 1:19 in the clip...

...Mr. Parsi states: "...an attack on Iran would not weaken the government in Iran, but would strengthen it...".

So a couple of questions come to mind. Is Mr. Parsi inferring that one of the reasons why he and his organization are against military attack on Iran is that this would strengthen the Islamic Republic regime? And if so, does this mean he and his organization stand against the Islamic Republic government?

Would Mr. Parsi or another prominent NIAC member be kind enough to provide answers to these specific questions?

I thank them in advance.

Dr. parsi is Influencing What?

by Anonymous500 (not verified) on

Mr. Karim S Writes:

"It must be so annoying to you that Parsi is influencing US policy - perhaps directly influencing Obama - whereas all you can do is to write angry blog posts on Iranian.com!!! lol!!!"

Dr. Trita Parsi is not influencing the US policy, he is repeating a bunch of talking points that his masters have put in front of him to repeat adnusium and this guy is doing it.

Only a delusional "chapool" to his core would give credit to Parsi and this comical NIAC as representing anything but the line of the IRI in Washington D.c.

As you observed, lol!! And this is the only thing that smart ones do when reading these lines of the IRI repeated by its lobbyists, lol!!

How many times do I have to say this... I would love to see the mullahs and the IRI go, but i dont support military action on Iran. Why do you relate the two in such a way? Military action will not bring regime change you fool, dont buy into Israeli propaganda, those zionist idiots are only interested in keeping Iran in the dark ages and they know a military strike will assure that Iran wont come out to be a competitor of theirs in the region for years to come.

Much obliged for your civil and informed reply.

As you said, you and I only differ in the form of government that we think will bring about serenity and freedom to Iran. As for your devotions to Monarchy, although I am opposed to that system, but as I have said before your are among few in this blog who has a solid stance on his/her ideology. As an Iranian, I never have and never will doubt your patriotism.

As to your point on form of government and possible leader. I agree to what you say about lobby groups. After all they do have certain agenda and should not be ignored.

In many blogs, when people have suggested that Iran and Iranians are not mature enough to accept democracy, I have categorically disagreed with them. However, these people might have a point. Point that they may have [in my opinion] perhaps has to do with maturity as far as leadership is concerned. I have to admit that MAYBE there are merits to some of these[immaturity claims]. That being:

Do we, as a nation, have such a group , who is selfless enough and patriot enough who can, after the regime change, restore order and prevent the nation from sinking into chaos. You, personally have that person in mind. My disagreement is, Assuming someone convinces me that Monarchy is the way to go, does Reza Pahlavi have the leadership qualities, and selected group of individuals to reform the country. Or are we going to fall into another abyss ?

In summary, to answer your question, No I do not know, at least at this juncture, of any one individual, or group of people to take the lead.

Capt Ayhab

by masoudA on

Why do you think you can be done with me? especialy after your attempt of character assiassination ?   Not so fast buddy - If you wish to analyze my note don't take just one sentence out of context.   Here is the whole blog so others can see the kind that you are:

Do we have our heads in the sand ? do we have a cultural problem of not wanting to think of and plan for the worst ? Is it because we never want to actualy DO anything, and are always looking for reasons/excuses to sit out and have a good time? I bet right here on this blog I will get many responses from people who will come up with millions of reasons why our country will not be attacked !! rather than taking the time to consider potential reactions. This phenomen is in fact one of the main reasons countries progress - and why others become weak and extinct. Advanced cultures always consider potential events and try to develop proper plans prior to the events.

As an Iranian I certainly do appreciate the "Good Thoughts" concept and try not to be paranoid over uncertainties - but this total ignoring of a potential attack on the Islamic Republic totaly baffels me - especialy when I think this attack that the whole world is talking about may be a blessing to Iranians, saving us from a backward and ruthless theocracy which is dragging a beautiful nation, it's people and culture towards total decay and instinction.

              __________________________________________

Now - first and foremost - the attack the world was talking about and what I was talking about was the attack which was targeted at IRI's nuclear facilities and some strategic terror training facilities.  Attacks that nobody will consult us on, will not require our permissions, and there are nothing we can do about.    So let's make sure we understand the difference between a targeted attacks on certain facilities versus bombing and invasion of Iran by a foreign enemy - but you already knew that did'nt you.

Second - the whole blog was for those of us Iranians who desprately need a change, to cease an opportunity such as potential attacks - regardless of wether we agree with them or not - to rise up and take over - do you have a problem with that ?   Who does have a problem with that - except those who wish to see the mullahs remain in power.

Irandokht - you read these words extra carefuly.   There is semi military complex south of Tehran where most of the Mullah's Arab missionaries who beat up our university students live and train.   Do you consider an attack on this facility an attack on Iran ?

ultimately these people are haters. if they want regime change, they can easily work on their own goals seperate from NIAC who is working on peace and civic duties in america. what's the conflict?

but they are too lazy to accomplish anything themselves and just can't stand seeing someone else actually achieve success without them!

Thanks for bringing up the quote from Masoud A's own blog: "especialy when I think this attack that the whole world is talking about may be a blessing to Iranians"

then he says here: 1- You assume there are people here who actualy wish for Iran to be attacked and invaded by a foreign military.

The hypocrisy and double talk is so obvious! and he has the audacity to say other people's comments have no reasoning no logic and no merit!

The reality is that Trita Parsi is supported by many Iranian-Americans and he's starting to make a difference mostly by undoing the AIPAC's damaging influence and hateful propaganda in DC.

You're right, lets not waste any more time...

Darius Kadivar

Dear capt_ayhab

by Darius Kadivar on

I don't claim the contrary my only difference with you ( I refer to Parham's blog) is on the "form" of government not on the nature of the future democratic system of government to be. But that is another debate.

But to date I have not seen anyone who supports a Secular Republic offer a leadership. Who do you have in mind ?

Regime change also implies Not being Neutral in regard to the Regime's policies be it national or international.  However what I have heard from the lobbyists is don't provoke Iran on Human Rights issues, don't sanction them etc otherwise the situation will worsen for Iranians in general.

The Islamic Republic however has proven time and again that it NEEDS AN ENEMY. First it was the Opposition, then it was America and now its Israel.

So the argument used by some lobbyists or whatever they like to call themselves that we simply have to stand aside and encourage the US into direct talks but close an eye on what is taking place behind the curtains is in my opinion entirely misleading.

That is why I tend to agree with Azar Nafisi or Abbas Milani ( neither of whom are monarchists or Pro War and yet systematically attacked by IRI apologists of the likes of Hamid Dabashi and Friends) when she says any talk should be transparent and with full knowledge of the Iranian people for it is about Their future and not the Islamic Republic's chances of survival

See Debate  between Azar Nafisi, Houman Majd and Vali Nasr on Charlie Rose:

//video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5321612120640608789

Abbas Milani's talk will be "Nuke, Kooks and Democracy in Iran: a discussion of Iran's current political situation, and the prospects of democracy, and a resolution of the country's nuclear program...

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHLd-dfrrsk

Yet as we are talking there are indirect talks between the US and Iran. Vali Nasr is said to be in Iran already:

//www.payvand.com/news/09/may/1138.html

But what are the negotiations or concessions are taking place between the two governments ? THAT Is What I'd like to know rather than blindly trusting either the American Administration or the Clerical Regime ...
