The Peugeot 405 was a piece of garbage no matter where it was manufactured. Even the original models built in France.

It is very likely that this 405 was not equipped with airbags. Even if it were, airbags are not deployed in a rear-end colliison.

Well old cars were V8 and super heavy with real iron and now a days we are changing that for the safety and environment.

However the chassis of the new car since it was made in Iran can't take a hit for shit! the waves and the way it was bent is wrong as they have not tested anything.

Where are airbags?

It's not French, that model is made in Iran, like Aftabeh go Iran go (atomic).

Even a modern-day full-size Cadillac STS would come out the loser against this older Seville.

Over the years automakers have had to adopt the use of thinner gauge steel in order to reduce weight on cars.

I'm just surprised the Peugeot didn't explode!

Car Safety

A safe car is suppose to save life not the car's body. Volvo is one of the safest cars on the road, however even in a minor accident the car is a total lost according to the insurance co. Because it's body absorbs all the forces instead of applying to the passengers. A good example is jumping off a high clif onto a giant airbag vs jumping on a hard surface. So don't let body damage fool you.

You can find light cars like that in US as well.

Cars like Saturn are not much better. They are made of the same Aluminium that they use for Soda cans, I have been told.

I have seen the accident impact on these cars, very scary.

I guess you trade MPG for safety!?

It is only to get into accident w/other french cars such as citroen! It is like 48 KG boxer going against the American heavy weight! No match! Another words, if american cars come to iran, the french should leave out of the way of the American bullies!

consisting of a few scratches. The 405 on the other hand..... hahahahahahahaha.

 

But 4 real, modern day cars like the 405 are build to absorb the impact in order to keep the car occupants unharmed. The cadi driver on the other hand had to absorb the impact on his own (or his belly).
