by Darius Kadivar on Sat Jun 06, 2009 02:25 PM PDTThis Debate between Two "Polite" and "civilized" Revolutionaries reminds me of the scene in Polish Director Andrej Wajda's DANTON Starring Gerard Depardieu in the Title role:
See this crucial scene ( english Subtitles):
It could be applied to the previous debate too.
For Your Info Rezaie Arrested Gobtzadeh for Execution(1982)
by Darius Kadivar on Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:42 AM PDTRemember Sadegh Gobtzadeh ?
See BOOK: The Man In the Mirror by Carole Jerome (1987)
Guess who arrested him for attempting the Coup against the IRI and send him to the execution squad: MOHSEN REZAIE !
Here is the article in the NY Times (1982)
Iran Legislator Accuses Ghotbzadeh of a Plot
"Mohsen Rezai, commander of Revolutionary Guards who arrested Mr. Ghotbzadeh in his house, said the former Foreign Minister had been arrested while smoking opium, the newspapers said. Mr. Ghotbzadeh faces a firing squad if convicted in the plot."
oh my! Comatose...from the start!
by viewer (not verified) on Sat Jun 06, 2009 11:30 AM PDTAmazing to watch!
From the start, the candidates talk as if they are comatose or on taryaak. They appear utterly exhausted.
Imagine showing up to your next job interview with the same disposition as you see displayed here. Would you be given the job or would they think someone with a little more stamina could be a better fit?
How are we to believe that they are even going to have the energy to resolve the incredible and endless problems facing the people of Iran?
I noticed that once again Mousavi lacks a clear program.
by پیام on Sat Jun 06, 2009 10:26 AM PDTRezai has good arguments and appears to have a well thought program.
Rezai seems very well
by ProudIranian (not verified) on Sat Jun 06, 2009 06:47 AM PDTRezai seems very well balanced and actually has a programme unlike Mousavi a, Karroubi and Ahmadinejad.

Response to Sepideh
by There's hope (not verified) on Fri Jun 05, 2009 08:59 PM PDTPerhaps it's because the conversation level here is considerably higher than what we are used to in the US! In this country presidential candidates shrink their level of arguments to the level of the majority's knowledge and comprehension. But in Iran people are generally more educated! It's funny how none of you could handle such a civilized debate.
These men were extremely polite and courteous towards each other!
NO concept on modern democracy!!!
by AArash (not verified) on Fri Jun 05, 2009 08:28 PM PDTThese idiots keep talking about hand-picked, president-assigned "shadow government" but do not agree on a real opposition elected on the basis of multi-party political system. Unless there is a real definition of the 'opposition' in domocratic parliamentarian system there's no hope for establishment of REAL democracy in Iran. Having said that, I am getting more and more interested in what Rezaei has to say...!

This Moussavi guy still lives in the 1980's Iran
by Anonymous464645665 (not verified) on Fri Jun 05, 2009 09:56 AM PDTThis Moussavi guy still lives in the 1980's Iran with the same leftist ideas! No wonder most of the our resident Islamist-leftist commentators on this site praise him and encourage people to vote for him.
Contrary to Rezaii, he is not much for privatization and free market!
