Mariam Touzie

'The Warrior'

I believe my sister, Mariam Touzie, makes a fine Iranian of The Day, not only because she's been a great role model for me all my life, but because of her incredible desire and drive to give life to dreams, hers or others. She is an ‘inspiration’.

When she was five or six years old, inspired by grandmother's reading from Shahnameh, one day she appeared in front of the family dressed in kitchenware including a putter bowl on her head as a hood. "I am Rostam and I'm going to battle with the White Beast!" She announced.

During her teen years she was fully taken and engaged by comic books and action heros. Of course, with Rostam in her thoughts and soul.

After years of sketching and dreaming, she spent the last three and a half years on illustrating her book: “Rostam The Warrior”.

This January, she even got it published here.

Once again, like many times in my life, I have to say, "I wanna be just like her when I grow up."
