CNN -- The opening of a United Nations conference in Switzerland on anti-racism was marred by chaotic scenes Monday as protests and a walkout by delegates disrupted a controversial address by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The presence of the Iranian leader at the conference had already prompted Israel to withdraw its ambassador from Switzerland, while several countries including the United States are also boycotting the gathering. Dozens of delegates walked out of the chamber as Ahmadinejad accused Israel and the West of making "an entire nation homeless under the pretext of Jewish suffering ... in order to establish a totally racist government."

by John on Mon Apr 27, 2009 09:55 AM PDTSorry, but I have to disagree with your statement that "the rest of the world sat and listened politely to George Bush's bullshit for 8 years".
The rest of the world, apart from the deluded Republicans and Fox News, laughed at GWB's idiocy and incompetence for eight years and prayed for the day that his term in office would come to an end. The rest of the world also saw him for what he is: a drooling idiot and puppet for a war-mongering regime of war criminals.

Hello Niloufar jan,
by Jaleho on Fri Apr 24, 2009 05:44 PM PDTGood to hear your words of reason again! Welcome back.
Why do they even allow him to speak?
by eroonman on Fri Apr 24, 2009 04:52 PM PDTThis speech should have been given by Khamenei. The (latest) legal Emperor of Iran. This turd, is nothing more than a puppy - I mean, puppet.
Maybe that is why the delegates left. Accordig to the schedule, they thought they were going to hear from the leader of Iran, and I guess someone finally gave them a copy of the Iranian Constitution.

What I Like About the IRI....
by Anonymous111 on Fri Apr 24, 2009 03:18 PM PDTSince we are playing "tell us your favorite IRI characteristic" lovefest story, I wanted to chime in as well. My favorite thing about the IRI is (are) the following:
-their opression of any and all political dissent;
-Their shutting down of newspapers;
-Their filtering of internet;
-Their jailing of bloggers;
-Their ad hoc arrest of reporters and labeling them "spies" and giving them 8 years in a one day "trial";
-Their massacare of tens of thousands of Iraninas in the purges of the 1980's when Ahmadinejad (f/k/a Mahmoud Sibourjian --a Jewish name BTW--) was a pasdar;
-their opression of women;
Oh...f**k it....this can take all day....
But, on the bright side, though, I'm glad that the average Mohamed in Tunisia likes Ahmadinejad....
And if you believe the preceding story

Q: thanks for that
by Niloufar Parsi on Fri Apr 24, 2009 02:19 PM PDTone of my colleagues surprised me just a couple of days ago. she comes from Rwanda. she took me to one side - to get out of the earshot of our western colleagues - and lowered her voice to tell me how much she adores Ahmadinejad. she asked me what i thought, and i told her that to me the best thing about the IRI is its sense of self-belief and independence. the fact that these guys are not prepared to succumb to bullying and demand to be treated as equals - a trait that would make the world a much better place if it were more widely shared among nations. That, she said, was precisely why she likes him. Not because of his policies, but because he speaks his mind and shows his face despite the abuse, condescension, threats and pomposity of the west.
my friends in the Arab region too tell me that MA is becoming a hero on Arab streets. they see him as a 'lion'. this is driving some of the regimes closer to israel, but it is also driving them even further from their own populations.
of course MA makes the situation rather dangerous for iran, and i truly hope that he loses the next election. i heard that Mohsen Rezai has entered the presidential race. this must be the end of their faction, as their vote is most likely split, and moussavi must now be the favourite to win.
he's a bit of a dark horse though. what's your take on moussavi?

I like Israeli movies (to Ushpizin)
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Fri Apr 24, 2009 06:03 AM PDTMr. KS, I disagree with the pro Israeli/anti Iranian extremists such as Mr. Kashani who want to drag Israel/U.S into a war with Iran through exaggerations and lies. That has nothing to do with me watching Israeli movies.
I have watched a number of Israeli movies that are almost as good as Iranian non commercial movies.
walking out
by Niloufar Parsi on Fri Apr 24, 2009 04:35 AM PDTonce again the west has shown its true colours. walking out of a conference in the way they did shows arrogance, disrespect and a total disregard for democracy and the views of others in the UN. same same...it was obviously planned beforehand, and it proves yet again that the UN is only a tool for them for their own ends, and they are fully prepared to undermine it whenever they feel the urge. of course we will not be able to solve world problems as long as there is no commitment to dialogue.
Peace!

Ushpizin (guests) [to capt]
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Thu Apr 23, 2009 05:50 PM PDTCapt Ayhab, these two clowns remind me of the two characters (Ushpizin) in an Israeli comedy. Please see the link (//www.abc.net.au/atthemovies/txt/s1569807.htm) and you'll see what I mean. Here is an excerpt:
"...a couple of guests turn up. Eliahu, Shaul Misrahi, and Yosef, Ilan Gannai, are day release convicts who have decided not to return to prison;..."
If you get a chance, watch the move (Ushpizin), it is hilarious.

by KouroshS (not verified) on Wed Apr 22, 2009 10:01 PM PDTMy dear IRI lover
...oops. i am sorry, Mr. ananymous jan, I imagine that you are having such a hard time making the distinction between those who would criticize a regime for the atrocities that it has committed but do not necessarily belong to another country or supporters of another regime (oh i don't know... let's take your favorite one... ISrael) and those who would not.
Do you see the contradiction in your statements? Neither Iran or Israel have Fascism incorporated within their goverment structure, Yet, Iran has less similirity to a fascist regime? belakhare chi shod? Does iran have any elemenst of fascism in its governing system or not? It can not be half-fascistic.
Who Cares what Mr. ahmadinejad states in some Dumb convention? What about basing your astute observations on what goes on internally and within the iranian society, re-evaluating your position based on such observations and
then coming out swinging like a hero that you are?
How about this. We leave it up to you to give us a thorough and original definition of a a real fascist regime is. please. Enlighten us.
Khejalat nakesh. You seem to have realized the snobbishness of pursuing the destructive nuclear weapons, and have started to realize your utter mistake in your support of such a pursuit yet you are to shy to admit or say it.
Lobbying for AIPAC (to Kashani)
by Anonym7 (not verified) on Wed Apr 22, 2009 08:52 PM PDTKahsani says: "Once you’re done collecting your paycheck from the IRI regime for lobbying on their behalf, ....."
Kashani_jAn, unfortunately IRI will not pay me to lobby for them, because some 28 years ago I participated in the attempt for replacing IRI with RI (Republic of Iran).
BTW, Kashani_jAn I now know why you are so passionate for AIPAC, they give you Koshir pickles there and apparently lots of it. What an interesting revelation!
Capt Ayhab, I’m

I’m gonna be nice and give you a chance to take what you said back about Israel being 100 times worse than Nazi Germany, not because I’m a fan of Israel when it comes to what its doing to Arabs, but, because I know you’re trying to victimize the Iranian regime.
I’m gonna give you these topics to think about and ask yourself do I really wanna get into this. Compare Israel, Nazi Germany and IRI regime in the following:
- Treatment of minorities. (Let’s compare Jews in Germany, Arab Israelis which consist of 20% of Israeli population, and Bahais in Iran).
- Providing freedom of speech for their citizens.
- Providing social freedoms for their citizens.
- Providing representative governments for their citizens.
- Providing economic prosperity for their citizens.
- Number of deaths as result in wars waged by or engaged by Germany, Israel and IRI regime.
These are just a few. All three are always the bottom of the list of whom you wanna defend, but, lets really see who the real evil is. I’ve always said, Khomeini made Hitler look like an angel.
First you have to say if those are important or not, if they are, let’s discuss them, if they’re not, please have the courage to say so.
