Anti-iri

by Anonymous Observer on

not to make light of the situation, but the reason why they hit him in his testicles is because he obviously has huge ones.....disproportionately large in comparison to the rest of his body. Otherwise he wouldn’t be out there risking his life for freedom in Iran while the rest of us (myself included) sit out here and write nonsense comments on Iranian.com!

Abarmard

There should be no talk of torture

by Abarmard on

The issue is beyond torture. The fact that he was arrested for no real reason (Other than showing that shirt) is unjust and unfair to him. We all should give him credit and respect so the regime will realize that by doing harsh reactionary acts, they will not succeed to silent the mass. And actually we should make him as large as possible so it would be a lesson for the system not to mess with people for no reason.

Batebi has earned that right and I see a humble man !

by Fatollah (not verified) on

No reasons for Batebi to lie! They do unthinkable things for far less! Many of you "tanparvars" never spent a night in the dungeons of IR, so you have no clue, then zip it! Batebi is free to do whatever he sees fit for a better Iran, more power to him! Even the clip explains the sheer accident, starting with the bloody shirt and his picture on the cover of Economist!

PS! To all you Islamists and IR sympathizers whom also enjoy dual citizenship; Khejalat bekesheen!

You claim: One calls it:" Mofzed ol fel arz", the other calls it:" patriot act, and national security" and they all are designed to curtail our freedom!

Nobody I know has been hurt by "patriot act, and national security".
Nobody I know is in fear of having "patriot act, and national security" being used against them.
I am an Iranian, living in the U.S.

Many I know, have been hurt by being labeled as 'mofsedeh fel arz".
Many I know, are in fear of having the label "mofseh fel arz" put on them.

I feel safe in America.

I don't, in Iran.

Where have YOU chosen to live?

Surprised? Abu Ghraib (US) & Gaza bobming are good role models!

by gol-dust on

See who is criticizing the mollahs! No. 1 and No.1 junior world terrorists! As bad is Iran is, it has a long way to go before it catches up with Israel & US atrocities around the world! Really!

Poor guy is being used for the Israeli and american agenda against Iran! Did they say that he lives in DC and works for VOA? And who was the woman with the cross?

IRI, Israel, & US are all the same bastard wolves with different clothing! There is no real democracy in any of these countries! One calls it:" Mofzed ol fel arz", the other calls it:" patriot act, and national security" and they all are designed to curtail our freedom! one is better to hide it than the other! They all CHOOB TOO KOONAMOON MIKONAN!

Wake up and smell the roses! America never cares about iranians being tortured! The zionists have their own agenda and this would not be aired if it wouldn't serve their goal and without their approval! Remember these big news organization are controlled by the government and zionizts (same thing!)! They are not real news outlets, only propeganda tools.

Iran should be free by Iranians not those terrorists who want to reconquer us by overthrowing the illegitimate and criminal mollah regime! They only make it harder for people to get rid of the mollahs!

Re "TOI"

by Meehan (not verified) on

I think calling Iran IRI(Islamic Republic of Iran) Gives legitimacy to those terrorists running the country. I have discovered that IRI has been called by some in various forums and chattrooms as "TOI" that is terrorist occupied Iran. this way other nationalities can distinguish between the Iranian people with their great Iranian culture and those Islamist terrorists occupying Iran since 1979.

"Hawkish propeganda toward Iran" ?

by Concerned-Iranian (not verified) on

Anonymous,

We may be Hawkish toward Islamic Republic but NEVER, EVER toward IRAN.

We love Iran and Iranians even if our people are brain washed, passive and misinformed.

We want to rescue Iran and Iranians from the criminal Islamic Republic regime!!!

Stop calling Iran Islamic Republic. Iran is Iran. It was Iran and will always be Iran... And Iranians will never support a criminal regime like Islamic Republic to remain in power in Iran forever!

We learned our bitter and painful lessons in the past 30 years and WE TOO ARE NOW ASKING FOR CHANGE!

Islamic Republic out of IRAN forever.

Shameless ruling mullahs

by farrad02 on

And as long as they continue their exclusive hold on power, the international games of politics and propaganda will continue. And we don't know who is on whose side and who is paid to say things and who is truly a victim.

What we know for sure though, is that Ahmad Batebi was imprisoned for years and for not a very good reason! And his claims of torture and mistreatment are certainly true even if exadurated!

But does anyone of you watching this video can honestly doubt his claims of torture?!

brainwashing of Iranian children

by shameonbaseeji (not verified) on

This is a typical memo sent to Baseej units at schools telling them what they should do and how pupils are forced to engage in pointless time wasting exercises.

Salavat is a chant, Shiite Muslims shout when the name of the Prophet is mentioned or when they want to show approval of something said. Hand clapping and whistling are frowned upon as Western traits and Salavat instead is encouraged. Salavat is a chant in Arabic which hails the prophet and all his family.

The memo is from 'Academic and Student Baseej' to the District 19 units and this is what it says:
'With Salavat to Mohammad (PBUH) and his family. With reference to the enclosed Salavat form for bringing closer the reappearance of the Lord of All Ages the saviour, it is of note for the commanders of all units to send in the names of the enrolled pupils and how many times they have chanted Salavat until this closing date..
Pupils who have chanted the most will be enetered in a prize draw and will receive prizes.
Attention! to receive the Salavat form refer to the Sisters Baseej units.'

Surely there are better things the Iranian pupils could engage their valueable time with.

Here is some concrete action everyone can take

"Post Cards for Iran"
by actionalert (not verified) on Sat Apr 04, 2009 06:11 PM PDT

Under the guise of protecting its “national security”, the Iranian government has orchestrated a crackdown on rights activists, outspoken critics and ethnic and religious minorities. Braving the threats of violence, imprisonment and even execution, dissidents within Iran continue to rise up and demand for their rights.

If unchecked, the Iranian government will continue with its wave of repression, and i’ts incumbent upon the international community to support the citizens of Iran in their struggle for freedom.

The Campaign
To stand in solidarity with our fellow citizens in Iran, and to call on the Iranian government to uphold its commitment to protecting the rights of its citizens, Mideast Youth is launching a new campaign - “Postcards for Iran“. As the name suggests, the “Postcards for Iran” campaign involves sending Iranian officials hundreds of postcards, urging them to bring an end to the violations occurring within Iran.

But it’s not only the Iranian authorities that we seek to address through the campaign, but imprisoned prisoners of conscience as well. We wish to send them a message that we are aware of their plight and supports them in their struggle.

Combined with pressure from governments and human rights bodies and unabated media attention, grassroots initiatives such as “Postcards for Iran” have proven to be effective in . Furthermore, former detainees have testified that prisoners receiving mail received better treatment, as authorities were aware that the world is monitoring their situation.

Get Involved
You can send a postcard in three easy steps:

Select a recipient
You can choose to send either a Postcard of Concern to an official, or a Postcard of Support to a prisoner
Write a short message
Upload a graphic of your choice for the postcard
And that’s it! We will take it from there and ensure that your postcard is printed, stamped and sent to your chosen destination.

Please take the time to send a Postcard for Iran and invite others to.

بت شکن

So many questions, not many answers

by بت شکن on

  1. Is it so new that the IRI has outrageously violated the human rights even before it was offically established 30 years ago?
  2. If not, so what is so exciting about Batebi's account of his torture?
  3. Is there not abundant evidence of the torture, rape and murder of the under age girls in the eighties by the members of Pasdar corps to have convinced us of the murderous nature of this regime? Or were their lives unworthy of attnetion because they belonged to the MKO?
  4. How about the summary executions of the army generals on the roof top of Alavi School and under the direct orders of Khomeini on the night of 12 February 1979? Was it not a criminal act and the beginning of the long chain of summary executions of the last governments officials? Or was it OK because they belonged to the Pahlavi regime?
  5. Why was Batebi released after having been allegedly tortured all those years?
  6. Did the IRI officials assume that he would not flee the country or could it be that they did not care less?
  7. Was he "allowed" to flee or was it a genuine escape to freedom?
  8. Was Batebi a headache to the regime or were they oblivious to his presence?
  9. Is Batebi telling the full truth?
  10. Are the Iranian.com readers smart?

...it is said to see intellectuals and fighters for freedom in iran instead of hunkering down leave the field inside iran to come outside because of pressure and then gradually becomes dust in the wind into the oblivion in their struggle to win their daily breads and be able to pay their mortages abroad.

The indenpendent voice in Iran must always remain inside to the last breath! no compromise! in order to lay deep institutionally recognized strong roots to provide food for the plant of strenght, power, independence, and glory...

Now that it's all over..

by iranian4ever (not verified) on

Now that he has accomplished his dream of escaping hell that is Iran and is safely settled in Emrika since 3-4 years ago.. what does he plan to do with his life? Besides sell his "story" to various propaganda outlets? He accomplished nothing in his whole life in Iran, but that's understandable since no-one can accomplish anything in that hell-hole, apparently. So what are his plans? Just planning on being another Reza Pahlavi, Fakhravar? Photo-ops and Jet-setting around US telling everyone how awful it really is in Iran and enjoying the celebrity status?
Cheers mate, your doing all us hard working Iranians abroad, proud.

Did you notice that?

by AnonymousuUSA (not verified) on

They described all kind of tortures and punishments like stoning etc. but they in their conversation never mentioned that they are all ISLAMIC METHODS OF TORTUREING in Iran and also in many other islamic countries. The Western countries(the so called free societies) never admit that all those barbaric acts are Islamic, Why? Isn't puzzling and strange?
