Shaking lion

Mana Neyestani's latest cartoon, in reaction to Ali Khamenei's latest Friday sermon, threatening the regime's critics and promising "harsh confrontation" if people take to the streets against the regime on Qods Day. Mana Neyestani's exceptionl brand of sharp political satire is clever and heartbreaking as usual. Mana Neyestani's other works have previously been featured on See here.

Sorry Mana, it is not brilliant

It is not a true resemblance, whatsoever. A lion never shake as it got fair and acclaimed attributes; a lion dies for its pride and dignity as it is really a dignitary and proud creature. Gallantry and the majestic behaviors are the best words to describe a lion. A lion never ever use any trick in its epic fights. A lion lives and dies just like a lion.

Has been Khamenie a lion!!??? Sorry I did not know about at all!!

Dear Mana if I were you,  I would draw a FOX with a broom in his hand and with a crowd of burrowers sitting around him.

Dear Mana I do hope, you as an artist,  take my criticism just as a criticism and will not tell me off.

Does that make Ali Khamenei the man who presently sits on the peacock throne?  The Islamic Republic of Iran's dynasty.

Who does Khamenei think he's scaring? The microphones look terrified though. Very funny.

So very true, excellent work.

Great job Mana

I'd love to see a hyena instead a lion, because Khamaneie's face and his behaviour are more similar to ugly wild animals like hyenas than to a lion. Lions have some "Morovvat"!. A hyena would be more appropriate.

Captures the mood so well
