Mohsen Rastani stands out as one of the most lyrical Iranian photographers.
Born 38 years ago in the southern city of Khorramshahr, he has been featured in international exhibitions in Britain, Lebanon, Japan and China. His most recent awards were received in 1992 and 1993 from Epsom, an annual creative competition in Britain.
Rastani, who has a BA in photography from Tehran University and studied journalism at the American University in Beirut,
has also made three war documentaries, two of them about his hometown ("Hadis Khouninshahr" and "Khorramshahr 62").
He is currently on the editorial board of Iran's respected visual arts magazine, Tasvir.
The photographs here have mostly been taken in southern Iran.
