Iran: Outside contact with opposition leaders cut

TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran's state prosecutor says all outside contact with the country's two opposition leaders has been cut as part of a campaign to silence dissent.

Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi warned "other measures" could be taken if necessary against Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mahdi Karroubi. His remarks were reported Monday by the official IRNA news agency.

The development is a dramatic escalation following warnings by an international human rights group, which said Sunday the two leaders and their wives were taken from their homes by security forces.

Mousavi and Karroubi were placed under house arrest after urging supporters to attend a Feb. 14 rally. Clashes between protesters and security forces during the rally killed two and wounded dozens.

Ejehi didn't say where the two are being held.

my good friend told me that the price of these guys are too high to let them roam around. probably many terrorists like Mujahedin organization would love to kill these guys and blame the government. who is there to believe that government didnt kill them? come on dudes, you cant be too naive not to think of all this?! i bet right now there are bunch of paid agents who are dying to get a chance to kill them so they can advertise against the system. probably same organizations or groups who have shot and killed some demonstrators from the rooftops!!! think about it. if you think that everything you hear is right then you are brainwashed. $hit is going on in every corner!!! its called politics. one thing is for sure: regime wants these guys alive so dont ever buy it if they are shot!!! and i think they are somewhere to be monitored closely but mostly b/c the government is afraid someone would kill these two.

"two were no longer seditionists but anti-revolutionaries."

I am not sure what the new label means? upgrade? downgrade?

...both labels qualify them to be hanged, right?
